Hi all, I am looking to replace my current (Lexmark) printer as the cartridges are too expensive. Any recommendations?? I am not interested in printing photos at all, but wifi printing might be useful (although not top priority). I do need it to be all-in-one as I use the scanner quite a lot. The main issue is keeping the cost of cartridges down! Any advice most appreciated!

Which lexmark have you got, is the cost of cartridges the only reason for changing it?0

These have 30ml black and 25ml colour, could be worth trying them, they supply the ink for my Epson R2880

If you still want to change, the Epson SX515W is wireless, has 2400 by 2400 dpi scanning and uses four cartridges at £4:24 a set

Not the HP3050 - got it with free cartridges on a decent offer. BUT, Paper jams, goes off line all the time and general moodyness - not what you want from your printer! OH did some research, seems these are common faults, if only we'd researched like you first!Determined to be a thrifty Mama!0

Lexmark are notorious for selling cheap as chips printers and then ripping you off on their printer cartridges. I bought this samsung colour laser wifi N all-in-one a few months ago and its brilliant. Ink doesn't dry out like it does on inkjets, reasonably priced toners, brilliant printing and very quiet:

I have an HP multi function printer but it's currently in a box in the loft. Nothing wrong with it but I couldn't afford to run it! I was messing about with swapping chips on to compatible ink tanks but it never worked very well, and with standard yield ink at £8.50 for 3ml I decided to cut my losses and bought this Brother printer instead. It's more compact than the HP but just as good as the HP, and you can get compatible inks for it, around £4 for 29ml of black or 20ml of the other 3 colours. Amazon have reduced it but they only have 4 left - get one quick!0
