Do bank managers visit people at home?

Hi all, I know this question might sound a little silly but I'm asking because I'm concerned about my nana. She told me today that her bank manager is visiting her tommorow to discuss private things and I just thought it was a little unusual for someone from the bank to visit somebody in their home, is this commonplace? I've never heard of it before and even though I know it's none of my business, I'm just looking out for my nana because I love her.

Many thanks xxx

Doubt it is the branch manager. More than likely a financial advisor from the bank...they still do home visits.

I would also be careful that this isn't some kind of scam where they attempt to sell insurance to older people, I would highly recommend you tell her to not let them in her house or if necessary have yourself there whilst they visit.

Some relationship managers for some banks do if the customer concerned can't come out or would find it hard to for some reason. Presumably your nan has enough saved with her bank that she qualifies for such a service.

RBS/Natwest Financial Planning Managers, IFAs, and relationship managers all regularly see people at home.

Is your grandmother suffering from dementia or senility? If not, why would you worry. Just because someone is older than you does not make her an imbecile!
