Life after LTSB Vantage

I tried setting up an incentive account at the beginning of the month and was told I had missed the deadline?0

I had a 'phone call today from my local LTSB telling me that they're due to receive an amount into one of my Vantage accounts from my maturing ns&i Guaranteed Growth Bond, and what would I be doing with it (they were more flowery with their terminology, but that's what they meant). I told them that I was going to transfer it into my Incentive Saver. I was then asked "did I know that I was only allowed to have 3 Vantage accounts and that I'd got 7". I said that I had to advise her that, when I opened the accounts, the 3 accounts limitation did not apply. I was then told "did I know that if I make a withdrawal from my Incentive Saver account, I wouldn't earn any interest on the month of the withdrawal". Again, I had to tell her that those conditions applied to Incentive Saver accounts prior to this issue, which had been made available for Vantage account holders who were likely to transfer their money elsewhere when the top rate dropped off. Doesn't anyone tell the branch staff about the accounts they offer, and if they don't, why are they asking their branch staff to ring customers who are obviously better informed than they are?0

Similar thing with me. I had to explain about the incentive saver. The branch staff had no idea about the account.
The following day I had another member of the branch staff call me to inform me of another deposit. I then requested that they make a note on their system that I was not to be called when a deposit is due as I'm well aware when money is due in my account and them calling every time is extremely annoying.0 -
Yes, I got a phone call yesterday as well. Made me wondering if my accounts have been monitored?!0

Had a similar experience the other week.
I had an appt at my local branch (LTSB), whilst there I mentioned that my Regular Saver acct was maturing in a few days...I was asked if I wanted another one for the next 12 months.
I said that as the rate was only 2% I'd be looking to put a lump sum away for a year or so, the asst manager who I was meeting with said that "well you have been getting 2% for the pass 12 months".
I corrected him and said ..I don't think so...when I opened the Regular Saver Ac it was a reasonable 5%. His reply was "It wouldn't have been 5%!....when I insisted he told me to go home and find a letter confirming 5% and bring it back to the branch!!!, "then we will do some digging!"
I told him "your the one with the computer you do some digging and find out what last years rate was...you will find it was 5%!" He mumbled something about it being difficult to find that info out on "the system". I suggested that he go on to the LTSB website and look up the past interest rates there as they are easy to find.
Anyhow he went off for around 10 minutes after which the manager came in and agreed that the rate was 5%.
Having been a customer of LTSB since '75 (and being a Private Banking customer...should have met with my private account manager..will in future) I was taken aback by the way I was told to go home and find proof of what I saying I pointed this out to the manager.
At the same time I told him that he could close my Premier Acct (that will save me £300 a year) as with the attitude I have had from Lloyds that afternoon they certainly are not getting any extra money from me.....plus didn't use the benifits either.
I have always been treated ok by them in the past.....and in the present situation they are in I would have thought they would be at least civil with people. God knows how they treat people who owe them money.
So yes I echo that the branch staff (including an Asst manager) don't know their products and argue the toss too.0 -

I wouldn't mind so much if the branch staff knew what they're talking about, but based on the person I spoke to today I'd have had 4 of my Vantage accounts closed (not that I use them anymore), and wouldn't have used the Incentive Saver that I've already got! Flippin' useless.
