They have just taken the funds from my account today from the debit card transaction ....
17/05/2011 NS&I SC DURHAM 15000.00
Happy days!
If Lloyds hadn't decided to cull the Vantage 4% I may well have kept it with them.
Looking at your signature......I'm suprised such a capitalist would take advantage of an offer from the state! A whiff of hypocrisy methinks! :rotfl:0 -
Applied on the 18th for £5000. The money went from my LloydsTSB account yesterday. Don't have any other certificates or products from NS&I.
That was quick!0 -
1066 and other OPs: Lloyds often block the payment made by direct debit card over the phone if it is considered an unusual payment on the account. The fraud protection in place does not differentiate between 1K, 5k, 10K etc, just flags up an unusual payment and there are no specified limits. Furthermore, you cannot inform Lloyds branch or card services in advance that the payments are going to be made. Annoying but that is how it works. Can be a frustating experience if payments are declined and if so, you can phone Lloyds card services on 0845 602 5684 (24hrs) to verify what payments have been attempted and to rectify them. Hope this helps...
I'm glad to say that, today, the funds were taken out of my LTSB account, so no block. Thankfully, that means I don't have to chase around re-applying etc.0 -
Anybody had any luck with Santander? NSI sent me an email to say "your card issuer could not process the debit card transaction."
I rang Santander and they said there was no problem with the account but that the "card issuer" may have a limit on the card. When I asked what it was he didn't know and couldn't help.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
Hi there
Sorry if this has already been discussed - I have tried to keep up with the thread but can't log on that often and then it is hard to read all the messages.
I understand that if you withdraw in the first year you lose your 0.5% on top of the index linking etc. But..
If you have more than one certificate, are they considered to be entirely separate things? So if you have to get money out of one certificate, do you still get everything on the other one?

From their website "can be cashed in early, but no index-linking or interest paid if cashed in during the first year".0 -
Thanks, but that doesn't really answer my question. If I have two certificates and cash in one, is the other treated as an entirely separate thing and continues as before?0

In a word, yes.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Also, what if you only cash in a bit? What happens to the amount you leave in?0
