Hello everybody :hello: and can I just echo what everyone else has said Reverbe, your Grandad will know what's gone on and I've been through a similar situation and what I did was actually bought a rose bush and planted it for that person so I have my very own memorial for them. As long as you think of him that's the main thing....

Well today I am feeling a bit better and have just done battle with the GPs for a request to have my records copied.....Just been told that my e-mail request "isn't leally binding" - I pointed out that in my capacity as a medical secretary AND according to the guidelines for requesting access to your medical records it is...."oh perhaps it's different for hospitals" :rotfl:Then they wanted to know why I wanted them - again according to the Govt guidelines it's none of their concern. IMO they want to know because they know how useless they've been. Ah well, I can play the game even though I've made a quick call to the PCT and been told "nope, you're right"....:D They seemed very keen that I actually go in and view them rather than have a copy on disc.....dream on sunshine....as Stan in Dinnerladies says "I've got my dander up on this one".....So I will be writing a very full letter which I shall sign in bright red ink .....just so they can see my signature.....

Last night OH and I did a lot of talking and basically we're having a break of a few months before we take any further steps....this means that we won't be spending nearly £100 a week on acupuncture (was really starting to resent it TBQH) and we can concentrate on other things like getting the other house fully finished and let....(kitchen should be finished this week :j). We've spent more on getting that house up to a good spec fo top rental income than we've spent on our own..... Also thinking of a holiday although our preferred places will be too hot now.....maybe Crete....

Right I've got work in my in tray and have to go and feed all birdies (inside and out). I'll check back later and hugs to anyone who needs them and have a good OS day everyone. Dinner tonight is "on toast" as OH is out at football....I'm already drooling at the thought of spag bol on toast (50p a tin on special offer at Asda!).....easily pleased :rotfl:
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Sorry to hear your sad news Reverbe, I agree with Beemuzed, find somewhere beautiful and peaceful to go, and think of him there.

    Morning all!
Belly feels a lot better today thank goodness. Apparently there is NOTHING to eat in this house, according to DD, did point out that maybe if she ever paid her dig money the shopping fairy would buy something she liked eating, and reminded her that she's usually only in to eat twice a week and gallivanting with the boyfriend the rest of the time! Enough moaning, better see if mum needs to go shopping then get on with some housework.
Hugs to all in need today

Hi to all, hugs where needed.Well I flaked big time in the end yesterday, kids come home to find me and woofer who knows he is not allowed upstairs fast asleep on my bed. They left me thinking that I would wake about half fourish ...................... 9 o'clock I woke up:eek::eek:.Boy was I achy and sore.Had to take some pain relief and let that kick in before I even thought about getting up.Luckily they had had dinner and made a plate up for me to put in the microwave ........which blew up on Sunday;)The thought was there.
DS4 is curently sitting his Mock Exam for English in the kitchen with an official with him , its at home as he is flaked out again with his CFS so they arranged it for him to be able to do it in the comfort of his own home where he will be able to stretch his legs etc if need be .I'm banished to the lounge with the lappy, so have feet up and a heat patch on my back where I must have slept funny as it is really painfull.
Dinner is chicken in blackbean sauce with cous cous for dd and rice for the rest of us.
A load of washing is on the line but it looks like its going to rain so will have to pop out and rescuse it from the rain clouds ,its that blowy it should be dry.

Donny-gal; I envy your Durham trip its one of my favourite places to visit.I used to drive the girls up to Wolsingham in the half term when my OH was working in the Sudan in the 1980s.I loved High Force falls its just so beautiful and the cathedral in Durham is just awe-inspiring.The view from the top is well worth the climb

It costs about £5 each to climb to the top of the cathedral:eek: although the cathedral cafe is not bad for food.

Donny-gal - I live in Durham City so if you want any ideas of things to do / places to visit let me know! Whereabouts are you going to be staying?

So far today I have helped DH lay our new concrete drive. We are finally getting to the end of our house renovation, now all we have to do is sell it! I'm hoping to get my quilt frame up this afternoon ready for my wholecloth quilt.

    Hello xx
Just a quick post to send lots of hugs to Bemuzzled xx. Also for Reverbe too xx I was unable to attend my Nanny's funeral and went to my parish church. A very kind lay preacher came and sat with me and read through a memorial service with me and lit a candle. I like to think that Nanny had two funerals. It was very hurtful at the time but I remember her in my own way x

Busy day so far. DD had to go to dentist and very money saving as we didnt have to pay anything as the dentist actually encouraged her to get work done as she will be 19 soon and out of full time education. Now Im off for an appointment and then visit to Mooloo afterwards for a cuppa and catch up.

I like "Let 'em Eat Cake" xx

Hey guys, late on here today. Had an emotional morning with a friend who I hope I've given some thoughts to ponder on.
As such I've done nothing, so playing catchup on a week of no housework :o In my defence I've felt tired and really carp so cold feels a bit better today so time to crack on.
another carp night with BOTH kids but TBH I can't be @rsed discussing it.

Not sure what's for tea as it was something with sausage which I don't have :rotfl:

JackieG - Hope the funeral goes as well as it can xxx

Reverebe - Hugs for you xx You go and pay your respects in your own way, you don't have to be at the actual ceremony in order to pay your respects. Must hurt but just concentrate on your Grandad and how he loved you xx

Rage - Nice to see you sounding more positive. Good idea to focus on other stuff in the mean time xx

Hugs and spoons all round. Sorry if I've missed anything, doing this in a rush. Have a good afternoon OS or not.

    ((hugs)) Taplady

A very busy day at work today, but the weather in the emids is warm, sunny and windy, so lots of washing dried for free.

Free dinner tonight, ie using up fridge pickings. If anyone is interested here's what I've cobbled together.

2 Onions sliced and sauted until soft
    Grated cheese
    Buttered economy sliced white bread
    1 Tin of sweetcorn
    Cherry tomatoes sliced
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 pts Milk

Make sandwiches, placing the bread butter side out and filled with onion, cheese, sweetcorn and tomatoes.

Cut into triangles and place in an oven proof dish in a pleasing pattern.

Beat eggs into milk (I also added a dash of mustard)

Pour over bread and leave to soak in.

Bake for up to an hour until golden and cooked through.

I lan to serve with a green salad and crispy bacon for the Mathletts that are not veggie.
