O/S Daily Thread Thursday 12th May

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tues 10th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Morning all
Good luck with the job BB
We're up bright & early here, Hubby's been asked to work on Saurday at school as they are short of caretaking staff, yesterday they were short of admin staff as we has one on a course, one out sick & one in hospital for day surgery, so those of us that were in were very busy. No response yet from BIL's family on my refusal to allow BIL's ex to attend our wedding.
I best go & make the packups, tuna salad sarnies & breakfast, bacon & egg for hubby, hot cross buns for me. Liver & bacon for tea tonight.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Morning all - best of luck BB. Have decided that I'm going to be positive and not let this total exhaustion beat me. So today I've pulled myself out of bed (such a comfy place!!!) and have got the washing on, the ironing is in the tumble dryer (cheating I know!), and I have a whole list of things that I need to do. Not as much as I would normally do and allowing for plenty of rest inbetween, but I can't just be in this zombie state.

Life WILL return to a normalish state. Tea tonight will however be pizza and chips - chips made from butternut squash and previously boiled new pots. OH back from work tomorrow so will have the chance of vegging out then. Have completed two more christmas hampers - just two left to finish now. So will get them cellophaned and into the loft. Am having coffee with a friend this afternoon to catch up on the gossip / things I have to do from the PTA meeting I missed on Tuesday. Embarrasingly, everyone seems to know I was really ill!!

Plus point of the day - got into a pair of size 14 cut off trousers that were reduced in Tesco - YIPEE!! Only 2 stone more to go! Have a great day all .
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning All

Very busy, but not very OS day yesterday, it was my summer pamper day. Hairdressers, home for a coffee, Pedicure/Eyebrows Plucked (allergic to was) and I cannot see to do them myself/Gel Nails. Back home grabbed a chunk of cheese and some SF jelly/fruit - followed DH who was taking the Passat DS had been using, which we had had to get fixed due to a VW flaw (leaking Pollen filter seal) found a local source other than a VW Dealer which saved a bit, down to DNephew who will MOT & Service it for us. Then we need to decide if we sell, or keep and use to keep mileage off 4WD save fuel?? Called at Aldi, then met up with DNeice IL, and the little DGNephew, to pass some bits I had for them, when she was meeting DGNeice out of school, popped home, showered and changed then out for tea with some old work colleagues.:o:beer::beer:

Today off up Durham area for 11 days in the 'van. Emptied my fridge into the caravan one, and stocked up tins and cupboards with what we have a home, and the freezer with anything suitable for BBQing from the freezer :) Will try to keep in touch provided we have a suitable signal.

Managing to keep to the LCing, though I know this will be harder while away but going to really try, not been scale hopping, but clothes fit seems easier IYKWIM :D:D:D:

Seems there a few of you out there in the wars, so ((hugs)) spoons, Hi-5's to you all. RIE sorry to hear your news just home it turns out like a friend who was sent home as not ovulated, and just relaxed and enjoyed themself and nature took its course :D

GOOD LUCK TO ALL TAKING EXAMS/HANDING COURSEWORK IN/DOING TESTS:T:T

    Take care DG

    Morning All,

haven't managed to catch up with yesterdays thread so (((hugs))) were needed.

The man came to fit the diaphragm on the boiler not me lol:rotfl:Bitsy

Went to DB last night for tea. It was lasagne and wedges which was delish. Then mentioned to DSIL that I needed a suit for the interview and she had a brand new black one that she had worn once and didn't want, she is short and cuddly like me and it fitted perfectly:j:j so thats the outfit sorted and has saved me some pennies:j

Picking mum and dad up from the airport this evening so will make sure have the makings of bacon butties in (you can't get a decent bacon butty in Oz for love nor money) I am so excited to see them like a little girl:D

Need to have a vac and a polish today and nip to the library and post office. Tea is meatballs and pasta.

    Have good days all x

    Morning everyone

Overcast and a bit chilly here this morning. No rain forecast so will endeavour to get washing dry on the line. Dinner was fish last night, not sure about tonight, have plenty of veg, think a meat and pots with veg and gravy might be nice. Going for a haircut shortly, then visit the GPO then home to tackle the ironing mountain - think that's going to be a big job as have two piles that are huge! Also want to get housework done, may get chance to do some cooking/baking, tins are nearly empty, may take a trip to the butchers, I can buy in bulk divide it up and it works out cheaper and is good quality. DS2 not quite so stressed with exams, but he and I will be pleased when tomorrow's here so he has finished. He's doing cycling proficiency next week so is taking his bike to school today for them to check it over. Must crack on otherwise nothing will get done.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.
