Susan - are you finding when you use the slow cooker for meat, it is coming out stringy?

I am wondering if it is me, the way I cook it, or the meat I buy? Sainsbobs and Tatcos meat.

I can't say it does Aesop - do you brown yours off before putting it in the slowcooker? I don't, I just chuck everything in and set the switch on :o

nah, don't bother browning it, even when I should. DH has asked me to stop making things in the slow cooker because even the chicken is coming out stringy.

The beef that used to just melt, now comes out stringy, still melts but looks horrible.

wonder if it the meat? down here that is

hun, you've missed a bit. Where does the water come in? You talk about meat and chicken, and say most of the water from the chicken disappears.

i also forgot to say add a cm of ginger and also garlic and a green chilli after you add and cook the meat!

No water till the meat is cooked through. The chicken always has water in it anyway.

EEEEK! sorry. It is ok now. I do this every few weeks you can do it with all types of meat.

he likes meat and it has to be cooked properly. He can't eat spicy curries, can only have certain curries, doesn't like others, doesn't like plain rice.

it's not easy being in this house!

    Oh that is difficult. :(
