  • I wonder if we can meet HL one day. Are you anywhere near Hampshire? You can visit me one day when my house is ready. Phase 2 building project is due to start soon. Not quite sure when.

We can take you to Old Portsmouth and walk by the sea. Brighton is close by and so is London (by train). Lots of happy things. Best time is the summer hols as then i am not stressed. The whole gang is coming down when phase 2 finishes. Bathroom isn't v nice though. Needs knocking down.

hahhaa, it doesn't get cheaper when DS goes to School SW.

If I work full time he will need to go to breakfast clubs, after school clubs, and then there will be activities, clubs, school uniform, etc.

Or a childminder to take him to and from school :(

it never stops costing you money having kids :D

it's not me, it's blooming DH. He didn't work for 5 weeks - no money coming in and now it has caught up with us, he is blaming it all on me. typical man. He should have signed on but was too lazy to be bothered.

That's where my neice is lucky - she only works 2 days a week, with very occassional overtime, but her hubby works shifts and my BiL doesn't work, plus hubby's family used to help before his mother got cancer - it is quite a military operation organising times and cars etc - and an added strain on my Sis as they now stay overnight on Tues & Wed as they take them to school those days when neice works, plus she has them one at a time on Saturday nights too

Nowhere near you but I do love Brighton. Have a friend there I visit. Well, I would if I actually had any money.
  • Yep. All indian people (which i am) use this as a basic one for all curries. Dead cheap and simple can be used for dahls (lentils) and all types of meat.

    1. Put some oil a tablespoon or so into big pan turn on heat on low.
    2. Chop 3 medium onions into small pieces and put them in the pan of oil. Keep stirring.
    3. Add 4 lbs of fresh washed chopped meat (any kind) when onions become clear.
    4. When it starts to brown add 0.5 tea spoon of tumeric, level spoon of salt, 2 skinned tomatoes(chopped up - or a can of chopped tomatoes).
    5. Stir till meat browns and most of the water from the chicken disappears. As meat absorbs the flavour add half a tea spoon of masala should take 5-10 mins for the water to evaporate.
    6. I like my curry watery - nice with rice - so i add 4-5 small glasses of boiling water which should cover the chicken.
    7. Put heat on full power(stir till it starts to boil), then put on a slow heat for 20 mins and put lid on saucepan. check every 10 mins that water hasn't gone completely.
    8. Cook for 1 hour.

    Add rice and hey presto.
