I know you said you weren't near the riots in Tottenham Aesop, but they seem to be spreading, so hope they don't spring up near you later

People's frustrations are really showing now though
who's frustrations are you talking about Beanie?
the looters/rioters? they aren't frustrated. They are animals, who are exploiting an opportunity to cause mayhem, homelessness, job losses, and much much more.
As one mum said earlier, they were like a pack of animals coming towards her, taking no notice of the fact she had a young child in a pushchair. She had to run down a side street to escape them!
I heard from a friend that there were riots where I live, but I left Tesco - the big one in my town, carried 4 heavy bags to the bus stop and took the bus home through the main town. There was nothing going on then at 8pm.
I can't see anything on skynews.
Fingers crossed, they do not spread any further out and it can all be got under control by the morning.
They are causing devastation in more ways than one. It is not just the looting, it is the fires, burning homes, businesses, transport. Putting people's lives at risk.
They don't care about any of this. This is no longer about the man who was shot, wrongly or rightly. This is about their own gratification.0 -
DS got upset this evening. We were getting off the bus,and he got off before me, I am trying to push past people to get off the bus behind him. the driver shut the doors, I am standing there ringing the bell, shouting at the driver to open the door again. The man next to me is ringing the bell, looking at the driver.
DS is standing outside the door crying, holding his clothes, looking at the driver as if he is going to drive off with me on the bus  the driver is looking at me in his mirror. I say, my son is outside the bus! Open the doors, meanwhile smiling at DS, saying it's ok, I am getting off the bus.
Poor DS, I got the doors open, got off the bus, so did the guy next to me.
Picked him up, gave him a big cuddle and he says "mummy, why did the bus driver shut the doors and not let you off the bus?"
I've seen it happen to another mum. Her DS got off the bus, and she was moving the pushchair to get off too, the bus driver shut the doors and started driving off. We are all shouting at him to stop the bus and there is a child outside and his mum is on the bus. Poor Kid was crying and running alongside the bus!0 -
Aesop, that must have been terrifying for you, and for DS - the driver should be reported. I hope it doesn't put DS off buses as I know he loves them so much
As for the looters, I agree, this has absolutely nothing to to do with the shooting the other day, or politics, it is just yobs out for what they can get, having, what they call, a good time - it infuriates me

I am watching it on channel 601 (BBC News). It is getting worse from the looks of things.
Our capital city looks like a warzone. The police are completely outnumbered if it doesn't calm down it looks like the arson/looting will spread.
Some numpties have started in Birmingham. I hope the police use anti terrorism measures but looks like they are not able to yet. Maybe they are hoping it will calm down tomorrow when the COBRA meeting occurs and measures are put into place.
Sick people will not be able to leave their houses for food and medicine. Everyone is saying it is not as bad as the 1980's but I think it is.
We saw what one nutter did to Norway and we shook our heads and said not here and now what is happening here? I feel ashamed and bereft.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I am still watching it too Kit - on Sky News 501 - it is appalling, absolutely dreadful

Even if the looters are id'd - it'll be difficult as they are all dressed similarly they wont get all of them. Then they will have lawyers provided for them free of charge. I didn't ever think i would be ungrateful for all the rights we have in my own country. Maybe we have too many.
Did you hear the manager from the Fox and Hounds in Clapham's story?
God is watching this and these people are gonna get fried when they die eternity in hell. Why aren't they scared?Aiming for a minimal spend 20220
