I just called in to see if anyone had any news on SW, but I see others have been asking too. Please let her know that we miss her on other threads and hope that she is well and feels able to come back to us soon."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -

Gosh I`m not used to seeing this thread on page 4 !! Its nearly a month since I last logged on (LOL thats sounds like `confession`;):D)
How is everyone?
3Dogs..are you still up t`norf Hun? Hope your Mam is OK. I have still been popping on to read up.
Been busy with work & real life but I am realising that I need some `me` time or I will be back to the quivering wreck I was in 2008. Life is tough though...I`m desperate for a holiday & would really like some of the nice things in life but sadly I am just on that endless treadmill of working just to survive & its very tough.
Having a nice chilled afternoon & shall be watching the Tour de France later...will probably end up asleep though.

Hiya everyone - I feel like I have been avoiding my diary
........................... well, actually, I have
Sorry
Lots of news of different sorts but have hardly been on my laptop, never mind on my diary - I have managed a quick catch-up on Mr T bargains and other grabbits and that was all
The last time I posted that I was going down to see Mam, on the Sunday, it was very distressing when I got there as I found her half out of the bed, lying almost straight across the bed, with her legs sticking out over one side and her head just tucked in on the other side. Her legs were out of the bed from above her knees but she was lying as flat as a board, and she had the sheets pulled off her. she was distressed and saying she had to get out of bed, so I ran and got the carers who looked shocked when they saw her, but quickly got her back into bed properly
The problem with the knee/leg part of the mattress rising to keep her legs up, is that this makes her legs higher than the padded cot-sides on the bed, so she didn't have to raise her legs, just twist around, to get like she did. She was distressed, saying she had to get up to get ready to go 'somewhere' but I couldn't find out where
The carers said that she had been shouting and distreesed during the afternoon, so they would check with the doc the next day. My first thought was, well if she was distreesed like that, why weren't they checking in on her or watching her, but I would point out that I had to drag them from watching the men's Wimbledon final in the tv lounge - shame they missed the finish having to do their job, isn't it? Anyway, I settled her and she did eat her dinner and pudding, and was ok when I left
I was there when the doctor came the next day, but she said that all they could do is keep a close eye on her. She said that Mam seemed to have an irregular pattern of fairly good, then distressed, then sleepy, then back to fairly good again. I had confirmed with the nurse that Mam does still get her prozac-type AD each morning, and I know she gets a sleeping tablet at night, but Doc said they would not give her anything else. It was agreed that Mam's mattress would be kept flat at the bottom, though we would raise her legs when we are visiting to ease her legs/feet
Mam continues to be just the same, with this varied pattern, which is to be expected. she was asleep so soundly yesterday that she didn't have anything to eat, but is awake and eating well today
I am really worried about the effect this is having on my sister, who looked close to breaking point last week, so, with Mr 3Dogs' agreement, I must make sure that I can be up there as much as possible to help and give her the odd night off. We are away [STRIKE]this[/STRIKE] next weekend, staying with Steve and Andy, with Kit visiting too, and then back up North next weekend 22nd July till 2nd August, then again from 15th August to 23rd August when my sister and BiL take my niece's two girls caravanning in Blackpool. I have also booked my train tickets for 5th Sept, Mam's 92nd birthday, to 19 Sept, so I have lots of travelling coming up
Hope everyone is well - good to read your posts :j :j
