Hmmmm...someone should tell the Argus but !!!!!! don't let them call them 'fines'!

Fat chance - they're hardly publication of the year ! Worth a quick look at the front page of their news web page today though - feel free to add your own comments ;)

'Good old Sussex by the Sea!' :D

EmilD join our club and ignore the fake PCN like everyone should with any such rubbish from a private parking company. You do not appeal, you do not contact Meteor at all, give them the cold shoulder.

Check out the sticky threads by Crabman at the top of the forum:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

You will see the rubbish letters you will be sent and the debt collector threats - they mean nothing, there will be no effect on your credit rating, no Court, no bailiff, no CCJ. Look now and see the letters.

Also check out Crabman's other thread near the top, 'Welcome, please read before posting' which if you had done so(!), would have shown you the Watchdog link with the paper aeroplane. Watch that.

Thanks Coupon-Mad - I did indeed view the Watchdog link (as much as I cant bear Ann Robinson!) and yes, its good stuff. Whether it will stop Meteor sending me demands is another matter! By the way, Southern have yet to reply to my email from yesterday... should I be surprised?! :rotfl:

Nothing will stop a PPC sending their debt collector threats. But just ignore them.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    OK, will do!

It might well be worth contacting the Argus, dont you think? Especially if there are a group of us complaining?

Yes, I think you should, the Argus struggles to find stories!

I reckon the more bad publicity about the PPC scam the better as long as the Argus actually take on board that in fact, these are just invoices NOT real fines, and are NOT backed by any Railway bylaws. It would be great to expose this scam, if done properly.

No private company can 'fine' people unless they are agents of the Council issuing real penalties. A PARKING charge notice is a fake PCN that can be ignored, link the Argus to the Watchdog video in our sticky thread 'Welcome, please read before posting' and also show them the shocking debt collector letters that these companies bung at victims to scare them into paying a non existent debt (see 'PPC letters, what to expect' thread).

Have seen you and this person, you could pm her so you both complain together (but do not call them fines!!):

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1695161

Raise it in the local paper and lots more peeps will come out of the woodwork. But do give the reporter the info I suggested so hopefully they don't give any real credence to these fake fines. It matters not that it's a legit station car park, since they have outsourced the 'policing' of it to a scam company issuing fake PCNs anyway. No-one should be appealing or paying, no-one should take the fake fines seriously, that's the message really!
