, Maybe something thick and spikey to put them off climbing over.

How about a blackberry? Himalayan Giant springs to mind, a thug though but no doubt other fruity & spikey alternatives are available, like cordon gooseberries for instance

Approach them and tell them the Good News about Jesus coming back

Sunflowers etc would not be enough, Maybe something thick and spikey to put them
    off climbing over.

Oh, you want green barbed wire then? Pop along to the local garden centre and buy half a dozen rambling roses ...ask the staff specifically for ones with good thorns. They'll top the fence by two or three feet once full grown, look lovely and be absolutely vicious.

Rambling roses, Do they grow mad and wild like blackberries?

We have thornless blackberries. So they are not much use. I did move one to that area but it died.

It appears my fingers are not very green. Nothing on my plot grows as well as all the others.

Why are my potatoes & onions just starting to poke through when everyone else has plants 1ft tall?
They get tennis ball sized onions i get onions that will pickle in 5 minutes.

    .

I've got a couple that are very reminiscent of brambles, with wicked long stems as thick as my thumb and thorns a half inch long. I've also got a couple of quite delicate ones that though they would scratch a bit wouldn't literally tear chunks out your flesh like the first type. I think you want the first type and as I can't remember the varieties of most decorative things I grow (because they all seem to come out the Reduced bins) I do suggest you ask at the garden centre before buying.

Because they planted theirs before you? Because they do something to the soil that you don't? Because they have more experience than you?
    Why don't you ask them?

If you do not fancy a thorny edible blackberry, such as Himalayan Giant, then the rose you are looking for is rosa rugosa [just Google it]

Lovely scent, pretty flowers, vicious spikes, another thug

More experience yes lots and lots more then me.

I do ask them and I ply them with many many drinks as I reel off my long list of questions.

Bought potatoes at the same time as them and planted the day after them yet theirs are huge compared to mine.

I use the same stuff as them because its bought from the allotment shop.

put your compost heap next to the fence so they don't stand around too long.... ask any passing blokes to add a bit of "activator" via a hole in the fence. Maybe having an empty milk flagon for them to donate with would make you seem really mad! haha!

If their partner is with them she'll make sure they don't come anywhere near your allotment again...:rotfl:
