My dream house...

I did a search on houses in my village. I was really surprised to see my dream house at the top of the listings.
I can say hand on heart I can think of no other house I would prefer to own. I know you can get bigger and more expensive but this place is so lovely. We used to go fishing in the stream when we were kids. Trouble is it's a bit out of my price range.
Also, looking at the other places for sale. I wouldn't say prices have dropped at all. The only cheaper houses for sale are not actually in the valley just outside.
Why don't you have a think about what you post before you pile in with silly comments. I am backing up what I have been saying.
Prices have not dropped where my house is. If you are going to have a go then please provide evidence. Don't tell me ' Oh yeah prices will drop 70%'
Show me. Let's draw a line under it and get the facts straight.

Reality number 2.
I put my postcode in Zoopla.
The price of my house is 2000 pounds lower than it would have been one year ago.
I think you can understand why the bears happy days posts 'it's here' posts amaze me.We love Sarah O Grady0 -
Whereas where I live, prices have dropped and are still dropping...some quite alarmingly.
For example, my parents house...at peak it would have been worth around 220k, now they would be lucky to get 160k on it, or our millionaire row, at peak the houses were going close to or over a million, now barely over 500k - 600k....strangely, it is our most desirable and expensive property which has taken the biggest hit here, the cheaper end and in the more undesirable areas have held up better and are still selling, but then we have always been a bit 'different' here.
It's all area dependent...you may be in one of the luckier areas to not see a hit while others may in areas where prices have taken a real hit.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
It's a nice house, Sibley....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Yes, thats a cracking house. I've loved it since I when I was a kid.
If the lottery numbers come in...one day.
Actually, if prices did ever drop 70% I'd be straight round there buying it. That would only be about 200k.
Hey, I might join the HPC lark.
Landlords out, no more liar loans. Lets go on a buyers strike. Kill estate agents.

It's a gorgeous house. I wish i could afford it.0

If house prices come down 70% I still don't think I could afford the nicest place up for sale around me right now:

70% off would leave you with an absolute minimum of $1,500,000 to find. The pool is a bit disappointing although on the plus side I could kayak to work!0 -

Round here, cheaper houses have dropped in price but more expensive ones are creepy up in price.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Sibley, inside the tiny world of everything priced in the UK currency, I agree with you.
However, much as you may wish to "draw a line under it", you can't.
Can you not yet see why I say you have a Canute-like attitude?
It's lovely house. For me compared to say, just under 3 years ago, it is now priced at approx. £280,000, & falling as I type.0 -
I sold my house 4 years ago, just looked it up on zoopla and it's still 'worth' £45k less than I got for it.
Neighbours aren't faring too well either - one's valued at £110k less than I got, other side's £60k less than I got.0
