Just a shame zoopla isn't in the least bit accurate

I can bring up some zoopla valuations that are 50% overvalued from what they are currently asking on rightmove you like!

    OK, fair point.

Again, look at the link I provided.

Do you think houses are cheap and have dropped a lot of money in my area?

No old rubbish. Take a look and answer the question truthfully.

If house prices come down 70% I still don't think I could afford the nicest place up for sale around me right now:

70% off would leave you with an absolute minimum of $1,500,000 to find. The pool is a bit disappointing although on the plus side I could kayak to work!

Can't buy that - too at risk in case of a tsunami, so not worth a lot. ;)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Not sure how much you could do about the interior, if your problem is with the exposed beams etc. -- it's a listed building, after all. Those aren't the stick-on plastic wood-effect beams so beloved of mock-tudor enthusiasts, you know!

    The interior shown is a bit brass chintz rather than class. The house is okish, but I'd prefer something like this when nit comes to cottages;

Some of those are nice places. Overpriced to start with so 3% off is nothing.

By the way. None of them are in Loose Valley where I live and posted the link to.

    Same as Sleepy's

Totally different area. Still nice though especially the middle one. I'd love a place like that. Imagine what it would cost to run though. Council tax would probably skint me.

As instructed, I looked at houses in the link.

1, your prime choice, proves the entire UK market situation. We realise that.

2 of the others, listed underneath your prime candidate, I have detailed, as you mentioned I should look at them.

I was thinking of contacting Zoopla to correct the price my house is up at, but to be honest, why would anyone bother.

A house is worth what someone is willing to sell it for/ and what someone is willing to pay.

Nothing else matters, its not a science. If someone wants something enough, they will pay what they need to secure it, if someone else thinks its overvalued, Move along... next.

At the end of the day, buyers have been active recently, and sellers, as a result are now more motivated to catch their attention with price reductions... even though they have unrealistic starting points.

Its like the new car market...

Would you really pay 19k for a basic new astra? No, cause everyone knows the dealer will discount 5k off the price anyway.
Would you pay 14k for an astra if it was the asking price, no, cause it doesnt feel like a good deal!!??

It's lovely house. For me compared to say, just under 3 years ago, it is now priced at approx. £280,000, & falling as I type.

No, it isn't. The house is priced at £750,000 and it hasn't fallen to £280,000. £750,000 is the price, in Sterling, that you would have to pay for that house. What I presume you're saying, but in a really obtuse way, is that three years ago you invested in an asset that has risen by a large amount. So by converting your Sterling in to an asset, and then seeing that asset rise in price, this house is now more affordable to you, because when you convert that asset back in to Sterling, you'll have more sterling than you had before.

Why therefore do you articulate this in such an odd way? Let's say a Playstation 3 is £300 and I want one. But I only have £150. However, I invest that £150 in a lump of silver and, hey presto, that lump of silver rises in value by 100% a few months, I sell, and I now have £300 with which to buy the Playstation 3. Hurrah. Should I now say that that Playstation is priced at £150? No, because that wouldn't be true and I'd look like a moron who doesn't know what's what. The Playstation is, and always was, priced at £300, I just did some speculating and converting of assets to make myself more money.

But I know you know all this and you're just being obtuse for the fun of it.
