  • So this is interesting! Id need to make £192 per day, every day to reach this goal by the time I am forty. This isn't on top of my normal living expenses! I think that there are enough ways of doing it though. I have a few ideas!

Im a serial napper but mine is a suspected medical issue that no one seems to be able to figure out. Im constantly tired no matter how much/little/ regulated I sleep. I rarely sleep between 10pm - 3am regardless of how tired etc I am but any other time of day I can easily just sit down and be asleep within minutes. If we go anywhere I can walk round for about 10 mins then I feel really lethargic yet when I go walking in fresh air I can walk for hours....??? medical phenomenon haha
Got a few things going on next week which hopefully could put me in front of the right people & I have a deadline fo 31st Jan for a few issues in my life to be resolved & if they arent resolved Im making changes that will fix them

  • Sounds like a busy month for you, Tink! Im back to work tomorrow after nearly 3 weeks off and a lot of drink, renovating my new house and money spent later so it is needed. Worked Thursday Friday but took it easy to be honest. Looking forward to getting back into a routine, get money in the bank by the end of the year then the worlds my oyster.

Short term though, i think next few months work is going to be hectic, aiming to save £10,000 to invest in myself asap, at £100 as not had any pays yet this year....i think i will push myself and go for 5 months to save it so by end of May!!

yes hectic few months for me but over christmas Ive felt like I was just rotting away as I wasnt doing anything argh. My blank notebook is already filling up with plans, ideas & achievements. Ive put in at least one achievement each day. Even if its something small like making a phone call I was dreading etc. It means Im more determined to do something rather than put it off just then Ive got an achievement written in haha

Snap - this is my plan. I intend to do one thing each day to improve my finances and achieve my goals - starting next Monday.

If we manage 350 days - just think what we can achieve.

One more day at my old house, doing a final clean, trips to the charity shop and the tip. Then a few days unpacking boxes here, settling in and getting organised.

I live by my notebooks and page a day diary....

You make moving house sound like a breeze haha. Bet it doesnt feel like it. We have lived in our current house 2 years this month which is a long time for us haha. We are like travellers!
How are you finding box it, bag it, bin it? I used to love goin round with a bin bag and having a good old clear out but I cant do it anymore as evey item that goes in thebin bag I then think oh can I recycle/donate/reuse so I donnt get the same sense of a clean sweep haha
My page a day is a saviour but could do with aa 2014 one as well already as ive got 2 things booked in for Jan already.
One is a holiday I have booked by paying a small deposit then I know im working towards at least one goal thats achieveable within the year. The day after we get back we tavel down to wales for my sisters 40th birthay. My sister that bought her house age 27 when it was basically a squat. Its a 5 bed detached house that she is still trying to fix up but its hers & she is doing a fab job on it.
Ive been on 3 walks today covering about 10 miles, ive had around 40 litres of tea and am off for my 47th hot bath of 2013 haha.
Got a meeting wednesday that could be the key to a good partnership. Also been asked to write an article which is why im currently on the computer (avoiding starting)

One thing I have learned through this house move - I will never hoard, store stuff or keep clutter - ever again - Girl Guide's Honour. :D

Actually it has been relatively pain free, although a bit rushed. I thought I would have longer to de-clutter first. I put the house on the market thinking it would take at least 6 months to sell. I did not expect to sell it in 3 weeks flat. I'm not complaining!!!

I haven't thrown or given away all our unwanted stuff. I know it sounds a bit mean, but some of the smaller and easier to pack items have been boxed up, ready to sell.

I shall go through it all as I unpack. Some items might go to auction, depending on the valuation. Then, when the weather gets better I will do a couple of antique fairs and a couple of car boots.

If I only raise a couple of hundred it's better than nothing. I can put it towards a nice holiday. A couple of years ago I cleared out my loft and raised £1100. Not bad for a load of old tat...

Where have you booked to go to. I have always fancied a Baltic cruise, there is one that includes St Petersburg - that's my goal this year, hopefully around July time. I am also aiming for the odd weekend or mini break too.

Good luck with the meeting on Wednesday. Now it's time to crack the whip. Time to get off here and back to unpacking boxes for me and time for you to start your writing.:rotfl::rotfl:

I have booked....wait for it..........Cape Verde. Found an absolutely phenomenal deal (well to me its extortionate but for a cape verde hol its cheap as chips)
That will be my first achievement of 2014 as its a 7 1/2 hr flight which scares the heebies out of me! You wouldnt think ive flown as much as I have.

Writing done, well first draft. Needed 1000 ish words which ive done straight away as its a subject I love :-) Lots of editing to do now and then send it to the people that then re edit it again.
Just choosing pictures now. Says maximum 6 so im sending 10 haha.
I dont blame you for saving things to sell. I hate throwing stuff away now & anything I dont think will sell I donate to either a childrens charity or the local hospice

Cape verde is stunning tink, you'll love it!

I'm also booking a holiday in October, I'm desperate to see India so planning Goa and perhaps travelling to Mumbai. A year ago today I was boarding a plane to Marrakech :(

Aiming ideally for 12k but 10k is the figure I have in my mind. Hope I can achieve, last year I managed £9500ish but bought a car with that and other things that were desperately needed so don't have much left. It's a nice feeling starting from nothing and building up, makes me really appreciate every penny!
