Bad news on the bad back! Ive pulled something today & literally had to just lie on the office floor until I could get myself onto all fours.I stayed like that for 5 mins then eventually managed to get up. Its my lower back which is affecting my hips and legs but then also my head. Hope its better for tomorrow as ive got wallpapering to do!
Deepest sympathies, I frequently suffer with similar problems and find that if I sit down for more than 10 mins can't get up, or it is extremely painful to do so. Unfortunately it takes a few days to get better. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Well my back isnt completely better but its eased a lot today. Im guessing its just a muscle ive twinged as I did it again today (but not as bad!!!!) in the exact same spot. Once ive got a bit of money Im going to get a proper physio massage as I think I deserve it haha.
Well this week is a rubbish week...only realised today that wages need paying for my staff this friday..... eeek. Its been a busy month but alot of ongoing jobs that wont be paid until November. Luckily ive got a bit of buffer money built up so will cover it. Long gone are the days my husbands wage was paying for my staff wages!!!!
Seeing the positive in everything haha
LL hope your back is feeling better!
Lincroft, I suffer a lot with my hips (was born with a clicky hip) having 2 kids has made it more prominent & when I twinged my back yesterday the whole of my hips felt out of place it was awful. I often have my hip pop (not out of place completely but a bit out of line) but it usually pops back in straight away. Yesterday it felt like i had shattered my whole pelvis/hip/lower back I genuinely would have phoned an ambulance if I didnt have my apprentice there! I couldnt move off all fours for a good 5 minutestrainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -
Hope your back feels better soon Tink. I have a knee which likes to pop out every now and then, even turning over in bed will do it!
First step towards the million today, received my £25 cheque from confused for doing the driving thingy!!!Proud dad to Darcy.....0 -
Andy, dont get me started on my knees haha. Bad occupation decorating considering ive got clicky hip, glass back and my nans old knees! (shes had new ones & im convinced ive got her old ones)
Had a really exciting proposition today but it requires minimum 6k capital argh!!!! Cant say much right now but it is legit, it isnt 'fast bucks' but its another income stream.
Im now using inspiration from YBM & taking on extra jobs. A few months ago I started making sure I only booked in a sensible amount of work with a view that early completions meant jobs moving forward. I am now using my weekends to catch up on any jobs that run over & to pick up a few little jobs in between.
Working on my own on a Saturday I can earn anything between £80-180 gross which after materials & diesel costs is still a decent amount to put in the kitty. Hopefully this saturday I will complete a job that is tying up a substantial payment then next week our work is the school I mentioned that will be completed by Friday & paid usually within a week.
After treating my girls on Sunday I have noticed a renewed enthusiasm in them, they completed a 1 day job in less than a day & the job we started today & have 4 days booked in should be finished tomorrow after a great days work today (and an early finish as a thank you to them) I know you could say why not finish normal time & shave even more time off but I like to show my appreciation & to me they have shaved 2 days off my schedule so Im happy to shave 2 hrs off their day.
LL how are you getting on? Hope your back has improved. Hope things are ok with your husband and mother....?
Re your house, yes with Christmas I would say you are right to assume its the time of year rather than your house. Unfortunately it is around March when things pick up but some people choose this time to try & drive a hard bargain so depending on your flexibility you may well get a deal. When the estate agents came round did they take lots of pics? As a rule houses with more pictures get more interest as people dont want to waste time so seeing lots of pics will help them narrow down their choices. If it is on the internet I would love to take a peek. Also happy to offer advice if it is wanted (wont offer it if you dont want & also wont be offended, especially if you pull your tongue out after saying so) :-)trainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -

Be gentle:rotfl:
Agent rang today to discuss tactics.
We've had a few "drivebys" but no viewings. I feel parking may be an issue, so am going to look at getting quotes for a double driveway. If I decide to remain here I will have it done anyway.
Our neighbours inherited the conifer hedge and they hate it as much as I do. It's going:j:j We can put something pretty in its place.
The outside front view does not give a true indication of how big the house is, it doesn't have a very wide frontage. Everyone calls it "The Tardis" because although it looks quite small from the outside it is deep and it is really quite spacious. I've asked the agent to show the square footage - approx 1200 sq ft.
Price wise - from looking at the local competition I think we are pretty much spot on. Whilst I am of course open to offers I'm not ready to slash the price by 20% just to get a quick sale.
Our little cul-de-sac is quiet and peaceful, the neighbours are great and most of the houses have been in continuous ownership since we all moved in in 1988.
Part of me doesn't really want to move. Having done all the work and made it pretty I've fallen in love with it again.
If push comes to shove, I can let it out at around £900 a month. I could then buy a wreck to do up and flip.
That way I could have my cake and eat it too.:D0 -
Hi Tink - hope you are feeling better now.
Backs, necks, hips and knees - we sound like a right load of old crocks. :rotfl:
The thing that annoys me most though about episodes with my back
is that it's just so frustrating - when it goes everything has to go on hold.
I saw the physio again today so fingers crossed.
Now I'm intrigued about your "proposition"...
Good that you are able to do a few "extras" to give you some money for yourself. Glad the girls responded so well to their little treat. I think this kind of thing can work really well to keep staff motivated and make them feel that you appreciate them. It's often the little things that make all the difference.
One of my old bosses always used to give us a day off for Christmas shopping - we loved him for it. We were all happy to put in extra hours when needed so it worked both ways.
Ive put my convalescing week to good use. I've tackled some paperwork and I've found some short courses. One is DIY for women. Basic plumbing, plastering, tiling so I'm going to aim to do that after Christmas. I've also found some woodworking/furniture making courses. They are not local so they would have to be residential - a nice activity holiday next year.
So progress is being made - at long last.0 -
Well I certainly wouldnt be able to earn my fee on your property, everything looks to be exactly as I would recommend. VERY WELL PRESENTED is an understatement.
I think it is just due to the slow time & nowadays having your house on the market for a couple of months or even 6 months isnt a long time.
There is someone that will love your house as much as you do, they just havent seen it yettrainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -
Thanks for that - it's nice to get such positive feedback from a professional.
I've tried to make sure that I have been objective and think with my head. I think it looks pretty good and I think it represents good value for money.
As you say it's probably just a question of time.0 -
Another old crock here!! ive got a dodgy knee and a neck that randomly seems to pull itself! :rotfl:
LL. Couldn't help but have a nosey at your house
It looks Great....Is it always that tidy?? :T
Only things i noticed are you say its down a cul-de-sac, it doesn't mention this on the details, for me being on a cul-de-sac would be a plus point.
Also being a 4 bed it will appeal to families, but the only outside space shown is the front, and then on the back its more a shot of the field behind your house, would i be right in thinking you barely have a back garden??Build your own dreams ~ or someone will hire you to help build theirs

Looking out of your kitchen window (IFSWIM, I didn't break in during the night) you can see a fence, which looks quite far away - is that part of your boundary? It's quite confusing with the view (and description) of open fields - I would want that clarified and a piccy put up of the garden (which looks lovely, what you can see of it). Especially as the lounge opens onto it.
No floor plan which is a little unusual these days? I didn't pick up at first that the kitchen was at the front. If I was a parent with young children, the fact it's a cul de sac with a kitchn window at the front so I can watch the little blighters while I cook would be a good attraction.
Tour looks lovely - it really is a very nice house. And is that Campo Viejo in the wine rack.
Good luck!
