Hi everyone
Just seeing the tread today and quickly scanning through posts to catch up. I can relate to most people in terms of what they want to achieve. I've two properties both renting at the moment but will move into one in march with OH when married. We both have steady full time jobs on average wages. I have a big interest in buying and selling. I get a buzz out of turning stock over even for a small profit. The problem I face is that living in NI I believe the opportunities to purchase stock for resale is more limited than other parts of uk due to size and travel but if I had contacts I would travel to source stock and make it happen. I search the web endlessly but with little joy. Sometimes it is who you know. Does anybody have advice on purchasing stock? Thanks in advance.0 -

Hi all
I've just found this thread and it's really inspiring. Can I join in please?
I've read the books The Instant Millionaire and The Law of Attraction. They are both easy and fun reading but unfortunately I'm yet to become a millionaire!
I sell a few bits and pieces on ebay but my dream is to run a business and work from home.
This time next year Rodders....!0 -
well my fellow millionaires in waiting.....im on the cusp of launching a major plan.....
Im just trying to work out if it is going to be possible and dont want to say too much as if I pull it off im going to have a big fanfare of an intro...
Its nothing majorly exciting but im hoping that its something that will give me great exposure and hopefully build business and money. problem is I need to commit to 2 years of paying money out without knowing if it will bring money in....Im sure it will but not for at least 6 months.....eeeek
Only the brave eh??!!!
anyway sorry to be vague but hopefully in the next week or so I can expand....trainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -

I kind of gave it away a bit in another thread so I may as well tell you all...
Well im already a painter and decorator and a few months back i took 2 more girls on making us one of the few all girl decorating companies, we are doing really well so we are now looking at opening a showroom come training area come sales area.
Basically the shop front will be the showroom area with mock ups of wallpapering, decorative effects etc and then we would have workshops showing people how to do basic skills..... theres a bit more to it than that but thats a brief outline.
Just trying to hash out some deals at the moment to see if we can get it to work for us and hopefully come new year we will be ready to work on it which will tie in well with decorating work going quiet.trainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -

By showing people the basic skills etc, won't that be eliminating a potential customer base for your decorating work. Will you be selling wallpaper, paint, dado rails, coving, door furniture, preparation materials, e.g. filler, size, wallpaper paste etc. All of which DIY home decorators need.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
The kind of people that would do the basic classes and then think they can decorate for themselves are not the kind of people that would pay a decorator anyway so if anything we would be pulling in custom that would otherwise be lost.
Many people think painting is easy but if you look around at painting people have done themselves you quite often see that round sockets etc its obvious its DIY and splashes of paint where they shouldnt be - even if its just a tiny bit - ruin the finish. Also with wallpapering people tend to do a wall then when they get to windows/doors/awkward bits they are stuck.
Not in all cases obv. but its rare I am unable to tell if its a formally trained deci or someone who has decided to do it themselves(even people who trade as decis!)
The kind of classes we will do will either make people realise whats involved or make them think yeah we can do the basics.
We will also be selling sundries as you said and we have spoken to several major suppliers who are onboard with ideas we havetrainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0
