Touche tinktay. I have a drive in me that Noone else iv met my age seems to have. Now I think about it, not many people I know of any age. I strive for success and every time I reach a goal I don't feel like I need a treat, I feel I need to build on it and continue to do well. I don't have a set out goal to get to the million but I will have a good go at it through 3 or 4 ways. I think my aim will be own 1 million in assets...as in net worth at least that. I am 20 now so I'm aiming to be worth 200k by 30....but really go for it in my 30s and hit the magic million by 40.
I was thinking on doing an open uni course surrounding finance that could lead to a well paid job...any ideas? My job slows down over winter months. Hold back some price work from summer to cover the shortfall so pay almost averages out.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Hi Guys,
I actually feel lucky when I hear people like this talking as I know I have the driive and determination to get a better life and that my life isnt so pants that this is the biggest issue in my life
I agree - it means that there are even more opportunities out there for those of us who are prepared to put in a bit of effort.
Some people just want everything handed to them on a plate .............
Not much news yet - OH goes into respite in a couple of weeks. I'm desperately in need of a break.
Still looking at permanent care to start in New Year, when hopefully I will be able to get cracking. In the meantime - having a money sort out and a major economy drive. (Trying to build some "seed" capital for one of my ventures).0 -
im not surprised you need a break, it is a job in itself being a sole/main carer and for you to still have the drive to push forward with your own plans as well is amazing.I struggle to work and look after 2 kids so I really do admire you.
With regards to OU courses I would toy with the idea of accountancy simply then you can ensure you are maximising your own income and cash flow.Other than that I wouldnt have a clue! maybe just getting some free courses from your local business link would give you an idea of what other areas to pursue.....trainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -

Hello
Think everyone must be away making their millions asits been quiet on here. I know ive been running myself ragged just to meet the bills each month recently but this weekend should see the start of better times.
Good start on getting your debts down! Scary coming off maternity isnt it (money wise) Have you plans to go back to your old job or get a new one or enjoy time with little one? I think if I ever have any more im going to try and make sure I can take time off.I was back at work after 3 months with my first and back at work the next week after my second.
How about doing some childminding?I know its a bit obvious but its steady money. Or how about setting up some kind of crafty kids type thing? An hour messy play group for £3 a child goes down well near me.If you get 10 kids and spend around £10 on crafty supplies thats £20 for an hours worktrainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -
I can't afford to go back to work, the childcare would be higher than my wages lol
Good idea, I will take a look at what is about we have a large spare room downstairs so could set it up as a craft room for kids, or even crafty birthday parties. I looked at childminding but as I have 2 children under 2 I dont think I could have any full time.
I have also been looking at part time courses something to get the money flowing, my ultimate aim is to open 2 or 3 baby/kids shops the first one within 2 years.Electric and Gas Predators 17/£700:j:j:j October make £10 a day challenge :j:j:j£155/£3100 -
sounds good
what kind of kids shop?clothing/toys/crafty? I took my son to a craft day one half term and it was £4 for an hour and they made butterflies and read a story about butterflies...simple but entertaining. for each table of 6 (tended to be 3 kids 3 adults) there was one tray(think school trays) with glitter, crepe paper etc and 1 pot of glue... if you have your own room all the better.
If you do get a shop run them from there...increase footfall to the shop and what parent can attend a craft day wth their child and not buy something?trainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -
Love this thread! I've got similar ambitions, bit younger than you but hopefully will get there by 35-40. Then retire and enjoy one of my 3 (still to be purchased) holiday homes! ££0

Today is a big milestone..... I have paid my staff out of income from the business and have enough to pay all business expenses this month...first time since we expanded. Still got a long way to go but its a massive step.It means I can use our personal money to pay personal bills for a change!hahatrainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0
