I'm having a spendy day. Quote accepted for installing the underfloor heating and installing the woodburner, two enormous rolls of baler twine bought to see if my square baler works (John Angy is going to bring his tractor up next week, as if it doesn't, he'd rather find out now than when he's facing a field of dry hay towards the end of July!), and new and replacement ear tags plus a tag applicator for the sheep.
I have about two weeks of peace and quiet and then all hell is going to break loose at the house, as all my tradesmen finish their lambing and get to work!0 -
So I have finally managed to sell my car, which means I have over £1500 to knock off the interest I owe. I won't know for another couple of months how much I still owe my folks which is a bit frustrating as I feel in limbo as I don't know when I can move back into my house. Still, it's going to go a long way to finally becoming debt free.LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

Well done, can see you've done well since 2012 and you're nearly there :beer:0 -
The thread has gone very quiet.
Yesterday I spent a lot of time taking cuttings of various house plants (especially geraniums). I have a greenhouse that is under used and they can go in there. Next year I will (hopefully) have loads of plants to sell from the gate. I already had compost and pots etc, so no cost to me, and it's something I like to do. Just trying to make the best of what I already have.GC Feb 25 - £225.54/£250 Mar £218.63/£2400 -
My main focus on millionairedom is my writing, and I'm only just well enough to start writing again
so no updates from me, I'm afraid.

Writing's a good way to go.
I've started a couple of books, but never get around to finishing them. Maybe I should make more of an effort. Mine are non-fiction. How do other people write? Do you set yourselves a target each day or what?GC Feb 25 - £225.54/£250 Mar £218.63/£2400 -
Nothing much happening here - certainly not earning anything other than the usual interest.
It's a good job I managed to save a fair bit during the first quarter because, as expected, April has been a VERY expensive month and unfortunately May looks like being just as bad.
I'm afraid its all spend, spend, spend.
Hopefully I can get back to normal in June and then start making a bit more. I certainly intend to start saving again - with a vengeance.:rotfl:
I intend to set myself a target of saving 50 per cent of my normal net pAssive income, plus I want to find a way of earning more. Not sure quite how yet.......:rotfl:
As long as it's legal and moral I'll consider anything.
Still not found a house yet but not really actively looking. I did view a pretty cottage but decided it wasn't right. Not suitable for a long term "forever house" and not enough profit as a flipper. I'll find the right one.....its out there somewhere.
All going well apart from the heavy spending. Getting ready for all the wedding festivities next month.
Am heading off to spend a few days with a friend next week, so that will be a nice little mini break.
Hope you are all well, happy and making lots of money.0 -
Good Morning Fellow Millionaires in Waiting.
Well after posting the other day I decided to check the damage and work out just how much I have been spending. It's scary.:eek:
Now theres not much I can do about the forthcoming wedding spending and the trip to Barcelona. And to be realisitic I know that May is going to be expensive because I need to entertain guests etc - it all costs money and there won't be much wriggle room.
I also have to put my car through its MOT I've already booked in for some new tyres in readiness because I know they need Doing and I really need to replace my hoover.
But the real shocker........?? I have just added up my food spend for April. A total disaster dahhhlings. :rotfl: I really must do better.
Cash flow is so important and I have let money just slip through my fingers. So cross with myself but hey ho - no use crying over spilt milk. So now its back to keeping a spending diary and monitoring the cash flow.
Right I'm off to Aldi to restock........and spend even more money. However, Hopefully I can stock up properly and get organised so that I can do better this week.
Hope you are all doing better than me.;)0 -
I have news to report, I am now debt free after my folks have very kindly decided not to ask for the money that I owed them for interest and fees. Whilst this is great news is does feel like I have cheated somewhat but have to stop looking at it like that and accept I am very fortunate. I want to do something to thank them, I was thinking about a holiday, others on here have suggested a nice meal or a day out.
I received a cheque from HMRC yesterday for £106 for a tax overpayments over the last few years although I think it should be more as they haven't included one financial year in that calculation.
So it looks like I will be able to move back into my house in September once the tenants contract is up. I will be able to save up some money in that time which I can use to modernise the house as most of it is not really to my taste, especially the kitchen and bathroom.LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

Muhren, thats great news!
Feedback on how to thank your parents though - not a holiday! They made you that gift so that you'd be debt free, and so that you can move forward from there. By all means a nice meal for them - but a holiday seems like more than they'd *want*, actually.
My mum wants to give us all money (equally, I hasten to add, there are 3 of us) - she has an index linked pension as well as her own pension, and the money just piles up in her bank account. We have decided to accept, bearing in mind that the help she needs is our presence, our conversation, and a few odd jobs round the house. Have a think about it from your parents' point of view, what do you see? Can they afford it? I bet they can ...
I'm starting to get clearer of the stuff thats been taking me away from my own plans - actually managed a blog post on both my blogs this month, *and* given Amazon Kindle my payment details. Writing will commence properly possibly as soon as tomorrow :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0
