  • this week's reading material is provided free of charge by my central library. Looks interesting, the rules of wealth by Richard templar. Anyone else read it?

Yes ive read this, it's one of my favourites. As a matter of fact it's my current bedtime reading. I moved a chest of drawers yesterday and it had fallen behind so I thought I would reread it.....I wondered where it had got to.

I have just ordered some interior design books and doing up furniture books Some for me some as a little present for DS1s fianc!e. We will no doubt end up sharing them.....I also bought some books on restoring old buildings for DS1.

Not quite as naughty as it sounds, they all cost £0-01 each from a certain well known retailer beginning with A.. I know you can borrow them, in fact some of them I have already read, but at the price I think they are good to have and refer to when necessary. with postage they are still cheaper than a glossy magazine.

I now get my magazine fix from the library. ;)

I've been figuring out how to rejig my blogs to legally monetise them - didn't realise you couldn't do it on the free wordpress sites :o Joined pinterest for the same reason, and started to get to grips with that a little bit. *So* much behind the scenes stuff!

I'm off on holibob at the end of next week, and I'm trying hard to extend the weeded area towards the back of the borders, so its not too bad when I come back ... when I'm back, I'll be working on getting the builders in, to repair the fence and side gate, and transform the brick shed which is currently vile :) As I feel more well, I'm trying to get my life back, and also trying to do things in the house that keep/improve value, as I'm almost certain this isn't my forever home.

I have placed my first matched bet, this is a £5 qualifier for the free £20 bet, I have to wait until just after 5pm to check I did it all right...
Have done that arbing (I think that's what its called) previously, but a mate used to do all the leg work and workings out and I just provided the money.

I really want to find other ways to be increasing our income (with out a massive outlay), but am a bit stuck on thoughts. :o

We have a decision to make, since we moved in to our home we have always rented out one of our rooms and used the money for food and other monthly bits, we have had a few different lodgers in that time.
Our friend has said he is thinking about moving in with his girlfriend, so we need to think about if we will take on another lodger or not.
We have never had to advertise and have been very lucky with who we have had so far.
    Decisions, decisions.

Have heard from our broker that the survey for BTL has been requested now, so exciting but this was all where it fell apart last time.

Just as I finished typing the above my post lady popped the how to make a million from property through the letter box- I am taking that as a good sign all will be well. :rotfl:

Let's hope it's an omen......:D good luck with the survey.

I had big plans for today but I'm feeling grim - just the heat - nothing serious so ive put everything on hold for now. Going to just potter about. I will sort out the cellar - nice and cool, down there.

The slugs have had a feast despite my best efforts and copious amounts of slug pellets. I have decided that until the plants are a bit more established I will put the pots on trays and then bring them in overnight.....

the good news on my new extra frugality is ive slashed my housekeeping this week and still the cupboards and freezers are rammed.

So another low spend week next week.....

I did try matched Betting a while ago but it was at the time when my husband was really ill and I think my head was all over the place. I never really did get into it perhaps I could give it another whirl.

My book arrived today as well :)

LL, it *is* grim with the heat right now, no way round it. Actually, there is - I'm going to get my desk fan turned on in a bit.

minxy - could you try airbnb to rent out your room? It does mean you don't have to have someone there all the time, tho there are occasional issues with spillage and the like. They have a resolution centre, apparently.

I haven't got back into matched betting after I made that stupid mistake with skyee bets (the one that cost me a whole £1.74 :)). Maybe I'll gear up again for that with the new football season - I just googled the start date, and it August 8th!!!! Didn't realise it was that soon, with 2 weeks off for holiday, and since I never have as much counselling work in August, my August can be blogging (setup for relaunch), matched betting and gardening :):):)

    Thanks LL.

I have used a website called profit accumulator- they give you the details to make £40 ish over a few bets for free, you then have to pay monthly or yearly, the site provides matching calculators etc.
I think I will give it a go for a month if my first few work out and then try and decide if its worth paying the fee or if I can go alone.
I liked it as there are step by step videos for your first bets, and it takes the hard work out of the initial getting your head around it.
At the moment the plan is to put any winnings into a deposit fund for our next home, but our plans change so we may end up using them somewhere else.

My friend has given me a few pepper plants now, and she also said she has some lettuce, so I have these to add to my tomatoes.
Now Im worried for the evil slugs...

I have spent the morning doing some business accounts, paperwork and filing.
Going to have a quick clean and prep for dinner.

    :j I did it :j
    My matched betting worked!
    I won 47p :j

But that is normal according the PA and in fact on his he showed making a loss of about 10p on the qualifier to get the free bet.

I am amazingly excited about 47p :rotfl:
