Thats great if you like it, Kaya! Presumably its digital? Then you can take a million photos, and discover what's best, remember!
And as for your competitor - erm, yes, having two children under the age of 3 is a definite handicap for you! I think you do an amazing amount of work, I really do.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yes it's a D3200 (VR lens to, I'm told this is better..), just wanted to tell you my story actually as it's quite funny...
Brought it from PC world and basically got £10 off as good will for being an idiot.
I went up to a guy and said I would like to buy this camera can anyone assist? This guy calls one of his work mates over and said can you help this lady please with a camera so off we trot to the camera and I had a bag in my hand so I said to him is this the right bag? The guy tried it to make sure it fit so I asked him about memory cards and he showed me which ones etc...really nice guy...so I said ok so should I go to the desk? and he says yes.
About 5+ min later and about 3 people asking me if I was being served and I told them I was waiting for my camera and someone was bringing it for me someone goes off to see what's happening (it was 4:25pm as well they close at 4:30 so think I was getting noticed a bit more lol)
He comes back almost instantly with this camera and the other guy is like what was the guy doing and he just gave him a bit of a look and said he didn't know.
Dead nice gives me £10 discount for the wait....then it dawned on me...I never actually told the 2nd guy I wanted to buy it...:rotfl:People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

Right....this will be my last post for a while lol as I feel like I've had a lot going round my head but sat down with everything today and everything has clicked into place.
I've been looking into this product line I was on about and I don't feel I'm ready for it...their is no in between I either whack 2k down on a machine to get started or don't start. (bearing in mind looking at my competition they have machines around 10k they advertise what machines they use as I guess this is to bring more customers in)
There was also a product I've been looking at for a while which would cost about 2k to set up but this is top of the line equipment so not starting at the bottom like one above...I think I am just very focused on moving up but I've just sat down with the finances.
Basically, my little side goal that is next to my finances is to get of tax credits, this isn't even something in my list of goals it's just a note next to my 'ingoings' and 'outgoings' calculations, I'm not proud of the fact we are on them but I've always seen it as a temporary measure and I sleep easier knowing that in the long run we will more then pay back every penny in tax.
I've done some working out today and I'm happy to say as of July (yes July lol) we will be +£30 if we don't take tax credits into account (that's including food bill and spending money to FYI)
It does mean I will be using the spare money after the business tax is paid off to pay for the car insurance this year and the rest will go towards the honey moon spending money instead of re investing it but my Dad told me the best way to do finances is work on a month by month basis so this is what I am doing and by using the money to pay for the things we would need to pay monthly for, I'm increasing our monthly income to allow us to save towards other goals. (I.e the house :T)
I can't really explain it but I do have a sense of achievement knowing we'd finally be able to live without them... plus with all scare stories I was always worried that they would retract them due to a silly error and we wouldn't manage without them.
I do feel like things are going up, my above figures are based on my husbands new wage, cutting back on bills and only taking £100 out of the business a month...so not depleting it by far and the ability to live comfortably on what we are earning even if it does set the business back a bit by paying the car insurance in one go instead of monthly, I can live with that.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Well, it has to go forward at the right pace for you, Kaya - thats why its no good comparing yourself to others ... you've got your toddlers, you've got your wedding coming up, getting off tax credits actually means you've increased your **earned** income considerably, and thats another step on the road to becoming wealthy. I don't blame you one bit for wanting to get off the tax credits, its a really sensible idea - no one knows whats happening with "benefits" in the future (I think its appalling that people in full time work don't earn a living wage, I really do, but thats a different thread).
Great that you've sussed what you need to do! You can still keep on posting though2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
What Karma said........
Sounds like a good plan, and definitely keep posting even if you are scaling back a bit. Getting off tax credits is a terrific achievement, so give yourself a pat on the back.
You have a lot on with your young children, just go at your own pace, and please do keep in touch.
Well Ive had a busy day, went through several boxes of carp/treasures (depending on your viewpoint). :rotfl:
One small box to keep, one large one for selling, a few bits for the chazzza shop and the rest in the bin.
Tomorrow I will be organising my office and then it will be forward from a position of order, peace and calm......:rotfl:0 -

Thats my intention too. I'm decluttering-by-scanning, as well as chucking everything I can out to the chazzer or the bin. Order, peace and calm ... lovely :T2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Order, peace and calm.........I crave this in my life and I'm slowly getting there, sorting through mine and my OHs possessions. It's both traumatic and cathartic at the same time, sounds daft but I think you know what I mean.
Yesterday I left a pile of "undecideds" on the dining room table, this morning I have been able to make decisions. It's a slow process.
I have several boxes ready to sell now so I will take them to my lady who does my ebaying etc and leave it up to her. I still have several more boxes at DS1s house but he assures me they are not in the way so I can have a little break, although of course i still have my parents things to go through.
I am being quite ruthless. I have promised my boys I won't leave them with a load of tat to sort out and that I will make sure I get my affairs in order.
At the moment I am just discarding the most obvious unnnecessary paperwork. Then I will scan the "just in case" and "not quite sure" stuff and then hopefully I will only have to store the important stuff,, wills, POAs, birth certificates etc. I already keep those separately In a safe anyway.
I have discovered I have lots of dribs and drabs languishing in old savings accounts, old coins, stamps, jewellery etc. so my next step is to go through this lot, decide what to keep and what to liquidate.
Last time I did this exercise, I cleared my loft and raised £1100 so it will be interesting to see how much this batch fetches.
Well you know what they say "one mans junk is another mans treasure". Going through old boxes of dusty mouldy stuff may not be the most pleasant of jobs but as the other old saying goes "where there's muck there's brass"
Once Ive got my stuff in some semblance of order I have to revisit my parents hoard:eek: ive barely scratched the surface yet.
Ah well - coffee break over, back to it0 -
hugs for the traumatic bit LL XXXX
Just thought I would give an update on my zopa account. I don't know enough to know if it really good or anything....
Ever paid in £290.00
Interest earned£20.71
Fees paid-£3.66
Taken out £0.00
so yeah. hope all is well XX
Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
how are you finding zopa?
i may get involved to diversify.
with ratesetter and happy with them but only have a month in. A fraction of the 60 month long loans i have signed up to. bunged another 50 quid in there today. long term i want to get about 10-20% of my money into peer to peer. Quite a risk to have it all with one platform - so any feed back on zopa or any of the others welcome
been following India's markets recently with an eye to invest. I think i just missed the best point to get in pre budget. But hopefully the 3k i transferred over yesterday should arrive when prices are still in my favour. Fingers crossed.
first month at the new job saw my spending increase a little in February but still managed to save 30% of my monthly wage. 42% last year... Its going to be tough to get back up to that point again!
edit: just had a count up and if someone could lend me £30 then im at 100k net worth. 10% of the way there!! If i keep the same pace its going to take another 7 years to make the next 100k... Lets see if i can do it in less than 5?0
