    I'm thrilled :j

I learned how to stitch photos together, to create a banner! Not merging, not yet, but its a great start. I used photos of my own cats, from way back, but I'll start from scratch to make the proper banner. And I'm only using Paint!

And I *think* I've almost managed to get my domain name pointed at my website.
ETA - no, not yet :( I bought the domain name from 123reg, like my other domains, and I've pointed them at the same IP address as them (which are with the same host) and currently my website address is just pointing at the home page of 123 reg, in spite of what instructions I follow. Very frustrating, and I seem to remember it was last time :o I'm definitely *not* thrilled about that.

Plus I'm remembering what Clickbank say about one platform supporting another - so, while the website has discussions about art, about news, a shop, and links to other websites, I can start a blog with the same name, which will be cuter-er. Wordpress, the right name was "reserved", whatever that means, so I went to Blogger, and managed to get it. Thats pretty thrilling :p I think my first post is just going to prattle on about how wonderful the cats are in the moneysupermarket advert :)

Oh, and just incase anyone was interested...I've basically wasted a good chunk of my profits as I brought cheap INK off ebay for my printer (4 cartridges for £25 usally 2 for £38) and they stopped working...brought new cartridges for £38...they didn't work.

I had a job a while back that meant I had to do a lot of printing. I spent £75 on a laser printer (Brother HL-2270DW) and was very pleased. It came with toner and saved me a fortune on ink.

It needs resetting by pressing a few buttons every now and then when it thinks it's out of toner which is weird but I can live with that for the price.

If you're printing more than just the occasional page and colour isn't necessary a laser printer is the way to go.

Keep in mind that changes to DNS information (DNS is Domain Name Service, the thing that translates domain names into IP addresses) can take up to 48 hours to propogate around the internet and for various things to update their local cache. You might have done everything just fine, but not left it long enough.

Thanks droopsnoot! I had one bit more that I had to do when I posted that - I just copied what my other (work) website had on it - if I'd had to do it myself, I'd have been lost, every registration company seems to "explain" this stuff in double dutch. Its deffo live now, but I won't pm the people who've asked to see it yet, its too tiny, and its only got the experimental banner up yet :o

And thats given me another idea for a main page with sub-pages ... little "freebies" - smiley emoticons and codes, veterinary pdfs, short stories - from everything I've been reading about setting up successful websites, its all about offering value to people.

Hope you're doing good, gallygirl

    Hey peeps.

I've had a crappy week, 15month old was taken into hospital with breathing problems on Tuesday morning and we were both their till Friday.

Everythings good now and thank god he's recovered lovely :-) Currently sat in his high chair drinking his milk :-)

Unf my Ebay was still active lol so I've had so much work to catch up on, not to mention the fact tuesday morning I was working (he was with my mum at time it started) and I left load to go on my desk including some international unstamped..which I asked my partner to post them but some arent stamped..well he posted them all didnt he -.-

Most have been really understanding and I've only had to do one refund, not that I was bothered anyway as my little man came first ofc ..think theirs still more to come thou of ones not arriving etc etc...

    Hows everyones week been?

Kayalana! So sorry to hear that about your little toddler - great that he's okay now, but a lot of time and panic is taken up, I'm sure ...

I'm doing good, I've been collating and cropping photos to be used on my cat website, cleaning the house because a man had to come deal with a radiator (I hadn't cleaned hardly at all while I was ill, two months worth!). I was going to ignore twitter for the website, but my niece said to me, no, sign up, and just follow people, don't bother posting, just follow and check out whats being posted - sound advice!

Client work is pootling along, no accounts done because I'm still all over the place trying to catch up on getting things tidied and cleaned, even the grass was a foot long - lot of that has now been cut.

I don't know how people manage 2nd careers when they have a full time job - they're probably younger than I am, to be fair, but still - I was shattered by 2 or 3 hours of physical work, bah. Must get fitter.

Sorry ~I've been awol - my lap top died!!! I had no idea just how much I have come to rely on technology - for banking, correspondence, shopping, etc It's been a real eye opener.

Crazy busy here, however none of it has been money making - must do better!!! It's all been nursing home stuff for my family, my son has ruptured his achilles tendon and has needed some help and of course my knee is still giving me gyp. :o

Kayalana - so sorry to hear about your little one, hope all is well now. My DS1 (the one with the achilles problem) had asthma when he was little (still does but fortunately it is well under control now). However when he was little he did struggle at times - I remember him being hospitalised - it's truly horrible isn't it.

Anyway glad all is well now. Had to smile about your partner "helping" by posting everything;)
