Thought it was worth mentioing my little one is 6 weeks now :-) Doesn't seem that long ago I was posting and telling you guys!

Hope everything is going ok LL, keep at it KC.

    Were on our way!

Six weeks old already. Glad your seasonable gamble has paid off, you will need to find the "Next Hot Thing" to keep the momentum going.;) Had to smile about your poor old laptop....The things we do to keep going.

All is well. Popped round to see DS1 this morning for coffee and to check his progress. All going well, he was busy slapping emulsion onto walls - happy as a pig in muck. Have got the electrician and joiner back in a couple of weeks, new boiler at the end of the month.

    We're getting there too.
  • Well iv well and truly got the savings bug back after a £4,000 spend month in October(ouch!!!!) now only got 3 rooms left to do in our house till it's had a complete Overhall since we bought it. Away to do the bathroom (new shower, toilet, decorating, fan put in and flooring....hopefully less than £500 each?! Do able?) then onto the living room. It's expense but at least got something to show for it and the amount of time I'm spending at home with having weekends in etc and complete no spend days it is a very worthwhile investment not to mention similar modern places are selling for £6k more than we bought for! So don't think it's dead money really as get back when we sell hopefully!!

Looking forward to xmas got some money stashed away that will cover any unexpected bills that may pop up or any pays that I miss as weather depending job. Taking it a day at a time looking forward to April as weather gets better and I'm due a tax rebate of about £2,000 and a savings account matures so will get £2,600 + interest. Now iv got debt to pay off but it starts bringing an income as of April aswel so will get it paid off next year or at least money in place so can pay it off after next winter. Got big plans, starting to put them into action!!

YB -Sounds like 2014 is going to be a good one for you. Well done, keep going......

Well folks - just goes to show that old Mantra "Persistance Pays Off" really does work.

Nice cheque this morning - refund of nursing home fees paid. It's only taken since May!!!! Cheeky beggars.

Another £1800 to the pot. :D

Not done much - I have a "frozen shoulder" at the moment so am a bit limited.

Off to meet a friend for breakfast. Oooh get me "power breakfasts" :rotfl:

Have a great day, make lots of money.

If you can't make it, then at least don't spend it.;)

    hi Everyone,

Im still in the process of getting vans organised. Not sure how much I told you all but im getting 2 new vans, one for my business and one that my husband will then 'lease' off me.I will then earn around £20 a month profit from him which may sound like its hardly worthwhile but it means he is paying half what he is currently paying meaning we are £200 a month better off.
We are now almost fully moved into a new house (again not sure what ive told you all but we have moved next door!)
Our new house is so well insulated & all the lights are the LEDs so hopefully energy bills will be lower, rent is higher but ti gives us the vital 3rd bedroom, a 'playroom' for the kids & a garage that is kitted out like a bungalow so is becoming our office.
About to spend £99 on flyers for winter checks on boilers(husband) with the reverse advertising vouchers for our cleaning services (idela xmas presents etc)
These will go out to all my previous customers inside xmas cards (delivered mainly by hand) and also around the local area.
My husband will then pay me £100 towards his side of the leaflet & the delivery of them.So im already £1 up there haha.
My office manager is fabulous. She currently does 10 hrs a week but crams lots into the 10 hrs. I feel so much more organised and less like im on a hamster wheel.

    Hope you are all well

Tinktay's first post since I joined! :hello:

Just thinking about what I've done this week:

    - moved my laptop back into the office, connection up there is much more reliable. Non-wireless - no more hopping into the kitchen briefly to get a snack, office is up by my bedroom. Ah well.

    - shuffling yet more paperwork, the French stuff, to get the numbers together for the accounts.

    - cat website - done *lots* more work on the links, found out a few places to get instructions on how to stitch photos together to make a banner, got copies of most of my cat photos in one place to make that easier, deleted the Amazon links on my old website and wrote to Amazon requesting they transfer my Associates link to the cat website. They've replied saying they're happy to do it, but can't do it till its published. So more work on content needed before I do that: links, editorial on news stories, articles. And I'll see if clickbank will let me make listings before it goes live.

    - wrote a thousand words of the end of the world novel, which flowed really well, and checked out some of the elements for factual inaccuracies with my smallholder guru :)

    Hi guys :-)

Seasonal 'craze' has finally come to an end. I've gone from making near £20 a day to about £2-3 now lol. To bad but at least I'll catch it early next time :-)

On plus side, I'm finally having the spare time to start organizing myself, I've got receipts everywhere, items im selling, paper everywhere with my designs ...its a nightmare...plus if someone buys one I'm having to faff around finding the image on my computer because their is no order, and any ready made ones are all over place...lol.

I've done my accounting up to today, although I do need to sit down and file it (its all on computer but I still have the receipts around so I need to organize them into months etc and put it all in a folder... ugh lol) and yesterday I started redoing my listings to make them more professional and 'look' like a business rather then two-three lines (To be fair I was listing loads in one go and more interested in getting them up then sorting it out properly lol)

So far I've done four out of ..104...ironically..but as I re do the listing I am finding the ebay image on the computer and renaming that and moving it and the design etc etc... so its gonna take me a few days but I'll get their.

After I've decided on my business name (uhu...no business name) and got myself organized I've got three things I want to get cracking on, aim for 300 listings of dif designs, approach at least three businesses and ask if they will be interested(I have self confident issues so approaching will be an achievement for now) and last to branch into another product I can personalize :-)

I'm also considering on getting a childminder for my oldest for either half a day or a full day...not decided yet, so I have extra time to expand by business but same time I really don't like the idea of him going to someone I don't know...I could ask family members but again self confident issues...as I would be offering them money along side and IDK would be a hard one for me I guess I can't explain why it just feels wrong.

KC - I love the fact your writing a novel and your on here...I will definitively buy a copy anyway if you get published...just because lol.

I've always wanted to write a book but I'm not a creative writing person, the idea of having a published book that I wrote though...oh well lol (and people probably pick up on my spelling which has probably really improved since I swapped to google chrome as it has an automatic spell check hehe )

Oh, and just incase anyone was interested...I've basically wasted a good chunk of my profits as I brought cheap INK off ebay for my printer (4 cartridges for £25 usally 2 for £38) and they stopped working...brought new cartridges for £38...they didn't work.

In end, as I needed to get items out that day as it was the weekend and orders were backing up I had to buy another printer for £40 (with some ink included still need to buy new cartridges for this one now...)

    So basically spent £25 + £38 + £40..= £100... Wasted. As I still need more ink lol

I'm hoping to get my old printer fixed...use the new ink cartridges then sell the printer... so I wont have wasted the £38 new ink, and I'll get something back for the printer itself -.-

So how was your guys weekend? lol

Aww, thank you! I'll try to get it published with ordinary publishers, but if not I'll go the lulu route, where each copy is printed for each sale ... couple of people I know have sold thousands like that, one fiction, one non-fiction.

 Thats agonising! You can get refunds, you know - I had a successful refund for something I bought on ebay recently, first time I'd needed it, and it went really well. And if you bought the next lot from a shop, even more so - Sale of Goods Act as amended - you have rights!

I've been working on the cat website *again* - had to rejoin clickbank, I lost my details, and the first training video I watched said "don't monetise your website straight away, thats a mistake" :rotfl: it had some really good advice, and between that and a few other things, I'm going to start a file with the most important structural points in.

Did a little bit more on the accounts, and renewed my professional insurance *just* in time - so I'm still covered if someone falls over a step, or even sues me for something. £2.5 million!

Trading, I haven't been free at the right times to sit down and work with the numbers, but I've made sure my accounts are available, renewed passwords, logged on to my news feed again. It all takes time. Tomorrow, I'm free during the trading hours that are best for me, so I'll be working actively at it :)

    Hi Everyone

    Just checking in.........

Well there's good news and there's truly astonishing news.

Good news -another £200 fell out of the sky and landed in my lap today.:rotfl: So that's a total of £2147 to add to my savings this month and it's still only the 14th. Can I manage to find some more.

Now the astonishing news - despite my father's consultant being certain that dad's cancer was back, the second lot of tests have come back negative. The consultant wants to do a couple more just to double double check but it's looking pretty damn good. Obviously the throat tumour will need some form of treatment but at least it's benign.

The old boy has more lives than the proverbial cat. I could almost believe he is immortal. I've taken to calling him "Highlander".

There can be only one: :rotfl::rotfl:

So a good week here, apart from my darling OH .......

Good to see the two "K's" are doing well. Lots of positive stuff there - apart from the printer of course. Hey ho.

K99 - re childchare. How about 2 half days. How would that work for you.

I often think you can achieve just as much in half a day as you can in a full day. It might be a little less stressful for you both too. A day is a long time for a little one.

Tink - Glad to see things going so well for you.

I would kill for a good PA.
