  • :j to the money and lol @ DD

My kids are always flabbergasted when I find out everything they do. I can spot a lie at 20 paces. In fact I reckon I can smell one :D. I told DS one time that I had eyes in the back of my head and I could see everything. Next time he got a cuddle I caught him looking at the back of my head for my other eyes. :rotfl::rotfl:

So what address do I send my begging letter to as you are my only rich friend :D

  • Morning Skint

Did DD partake in the coq au vin last night then?

What's on the agenda today? Breathing space after a frantic, stressful few weeks?

  • Meant ot say I think the 250/250 home/bank fund is a great idea. I often worry I don't have cash to hand so stashing it somewhere in the house if a good plan.

Will you be tempted to use it or are you strong will powered?

  • Morning luv, yes she did have coq au vin, and as it was a Delia recipie it was foolproof and tasty. Even DS tucked in with real gusto. She behaved impeccably, and helped out. Shes not off the bad books yet, but is doing much better.

Oh I dont know about stress free, I dont enjoy life being too easy. I did my sums and I had overpaid on my target on the credit card. Now this may seem odd, but I am not focussing on that as yet, so I went to the garage and topped the car up with petrol, to the amount I am overpaid. This is cash in the bank to me.
Listed another item on ebay, it all helps.

Our company has offered sharematching from a one off payment on a 5 year investment. The return is excellent, and I think both myself and my husband should have a small stake in this. We cant afford a massive investment, but we can use the cigarette money to have a £50 each investment.

This ticks our one investment a quarter box for this year.

Money cleared from paypal, and I put it against the getting ahead with the bills plan. By the time I close my September accounts I will be streaking ahead. I will only have the holiday fund (held on credit card) and Christmas fund (held on credit card) and my 100 day challenge to meet, and these will be minimal so I wont be carrying very much over at all.

Ive had a look and by holding money on the cards I save on the interest for the time its there, and I am ringfencing it. Meanwhile I am tackling other stuff.

Also if I do spend on a card I am very careful to tackle that first, so the card balances are only going down.

I am alot happier with how things are going today because I feel I can hit alot of personal targets.

    1. I can hit the 1v100 challenge (will be great to see the back of vodafone and I cant wait to start the next one)
    2. I am ahead with the monthly bills. We havent been paid yet and we are streets ahead.
    3. The emergency fund is there, while not massive its a crutch I really need.
    4. Ebay is back and up and running. The regular £30 influx of money is a real bonus.
    5. My preparing for the snow plan is underway. Its getting really cold really quickly.

This worries me, as I dont have a roof on the house at the moment!

Well I have been so stressed with the car issues I need this. I have said to the hubby if he is rushed and cant make cashpoint easily he can borrow from it,but it must be returned.
Have to have the willpower, because its going to save my brain from frying moving forwards.

might be good to pop it in an ariel liquitab box, so the money inside can be seen.... Hmm.

its to save expense in the long run. I think it will help.

  • Glad DD got some tea and the investment sounds great too!

You've done brilliantly getting ahead on the monthly bills - I bet thats a fantastic feeling?!

Our small cash stash is in a cash box, the key for which is in the safe and DH is the only one with a key to the safe because he has much more willpower with cash than I do! Not entirely sure there is anything in it at the moment though....*mental note to get him to check later*
