  • DF its got to be done. I wont take out car finance. NO way Pedro, as del boy says.

    Well I am shocking.

Have tasked OH to find a savings account with a lot of different savings pots. Also getting DD a one of those ID cards for cheap bus travel, and organising the holiday photos. Also found a survey site for techie bods, and OH is a techie, which has some generous payouts. He is registering. Ker-ching.

Also am doing my budgets - hence the savings pots things.and will be doing a snowball tonight!! meant to last night but was down about the car.

I am having to budget for car parking and stuff so when I have a car park space I will use what I would have spent and pop it in a tin at home. I will use the tin for the cigarette money too.

I have to see a counsellor again about my PND. I have had a few bad nights sleep where I have woken shaking.

At a bit of a loss. UCK!!

Yeah seems like a good option the IF one for us. Means I can save in pots and then use it against debts or whatever. Will be doing little amounts of a pound into some etc.

Once I have rid of vodafone will be moving onto my next challenge, am rather excited by all this.

Sorry to butt in but I’ve been reading your thread and it’s very entertaining. I just wanted to poke my head out to say well done on the debt reduction and on the quitting smoking.

I gave up 5 months ago and can categorically state that it gets easier as time goes on. The first few weeks are incredibly depressing because you think you should feel good about it but just feel crappy all the time – trust me, this goes away.

If I could give you two pieces of advice:
    1. Have a jar and put in the exact amount you would have spent on smoking every day. Once a month pay that off to your debts (or save it up for hols or something). If you do that before you’ve got used to the extra money you don’t feel like you’re losing anything.
    2. Read up on quitting smoking online, when you can see other people moaning about feeling crappy and having withdrawal side effects (insomnia, bleeding gums, nice hacking cough to name a few) you get some comfort that the horrible bits are normal and temporary.

  • Car broke down last night in the works car park. Was so upset.Got a lift back to my village and eldest daughter took me to pick my son up.

That 42 pounds a week will get me a hell of a car. I am going to save the 42 pounds a week into my car fund!

I had no idea it cost that much to smoke .

I have had a lovely relationship with the RAC over the summer and these were not old bangers either . Any idea what is up with it? I have a bit of car knowledge.

See what the counsellor says hun, I think you are doing a tremendous job keeping everything together:D.

Depression can very really hard to understand, and with kids you just don't have the peace and quiet to sit down and give yourself enough time to examine what's happening closely - this is why the counselling is great! You seem to be doing an amazing job, keep at it. xx Julie:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
