The box was not pre ticked then. No, it counts as missbought if you ticked the box and bought online.

Would it be classed as 'mis-sold' if I signed something/ticked without fully understanding it?
Unfortunately not. In order for it to be mis-sold you have to have been sold it by someone. You selected the PPI of your own volition (regardless of whether you understood the ramifications) so you mis-bought it and don't have a valid complaint.

What happens now that Barclaycard have cancelled the AXA ppi that was sold through Egg? If the balance has not been paid off in full where do you stand with regards to constantly having to pay interest on payments made for the PPI?

You continue to pay it until your complaint is upheld after which all that will be taken tino consideration in the redress.

  • I had a similar thing with Egg, but I rang them as soon as I realised PPI had been applied because it wasn't applicable to me (I had a pre existing condition, my employer paid sickness and I was entitled to redundancy). They refused to remove it said it was a condition of the loan. When I tried to claim it back some years ago they said that I had pre-ticked the box so what they claim is horse !!!!. I also read that someone had unchecked the box and went onto the next page then went back to check and the tick box had been repopulated. Bunch of charlatans egg.
