    I don't think you can. I accidentally did this a few weeks back and after scanning in got an email to say I'd done it wrong and to be more careful in future

    I have had an invitation to join the sky viewers panel, which seems to be connected to shop and scan.
    Is anyone else a member of it? Is it safe to join?
    Any information about it would be much appreciated.

    can anyone help me please?
    i have internet explorer 8, downloaded the software from the site again - it worked last week and my scanner turns amber then green when i plug it into my computer on the site but i cannot get it to transmit at all. the site seems to keep crashing my computer and there is no noise. was worried it might have lost the barcodes so i went through and put them all on again and that still didnt work.

    does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it to work as i phoned the helpline and its closed - it is sunday afterall. or maybe tell me what im doing wrong? thanks x

    I had similar, try unplugging the scanner, point it at a wall, press & hold the scan button [red line on wall] keep button pressed until red laser line goes out

    Plug scanner back in & try transmitting again

    have tried that and its still not working :(
    will try another computer and see if i can get it to work - gettin a bit frustrated now :eek:

    Problem Solving


    Having trouble scanning or transmitting your barcodes or is there something wrong with your Clicker?

    Below are some solutions for any problems you may have with using your clicker to scan barcodes. If you can't find your problem then contact us.



    Q1.

    There is no indicator light on top of the clicker when I try to scan





    Q2.

    The clicker still beeps but the indicator light on top turns red instead of green



    Q3.

    No red scanning beam



    Q4.

    The red beam will not read barcodes









    Q1. I have no indicator light on top of the scanner when I try to scan

    Your Clicker's battery may need to be recharged. The Clicker has a rechargeable battery which is charged via the USB cable. Connect the Clicker to your computer using the USB cable provided and switch on your computer. The light on the Clicker should turn red, indicating that it is charging. Once the Clicker is fully charged the indicator will turn green.

    If the indicator light does not turn on when the Clicker is connected to your PC then please contact us.

    Q2.The clicker still beeps but the indicator light on top turns red instead of green

    If you see a steady red light when pressing the Clicker button it means that the Clicker's memory is full of barcodes.

    You must transmit your barcodes before you can scan anymore.

    Q3. No red scanning beam

    Please check the colour of the indicator light on top of the Clicker when you try to scan. The indicator should flash green when you press the button.
    •If there is no light you may need to recharge your Clicker. Please connect it to your PC using the USB cable supplied and turn on your PC.
    •If the light is a steady red when you press the button the Clicker's memory is full. First try transmitting your barcodes to empty the memory and try scanning again.
    If there is still no beam please contact us.

    Q4. The red beam will not read barcodes

    Please try the following:
    •Wipe the scan lens.
    •Try a different barcode.
    •Slowly increase the distance between the Clicker and barcode while pressing the button.

    If it's still not scanning contact us.

    Q3. Unable to transmit

    Please first check the following three possible problems with the Clicker:





    1. Does the Clicker have a red beam when you press the scan button?
    2. Does the Clicker beep when you scan a barcode?
    3. Does the LED on the top of the Clicker go greenwhen you scan a barcode?


    If the answer to any of the above questions is no please check the problem solving page for your Clicker by selecting the picture above.

    Are you using Microsoft Internet Explorer? Our software may be incompatible with other internet browsers.

    Otherwise please check for the error messages below.

    Error Message 1600
    Please try to transmit again in a couple of hours as there is a problem with our server.

    Transmission Failed [1]
    Check the lead is securely connected to both the Clicker and PC and try to transmit again.
    If it still fails please contact us.

    Transmission Failed [2]
    Please check the security settings in Internet Explorer and try to transmit again. Click here to see how.
    If it still fails please contact us.

    Transmission Failed [3]
    Press the scan button on top of the Clicker without it being plugged in and without scanning a barcode.

    1. If the light is GREEN unplug the lead from your PC and Clicker and then re-plug them both in again. Check the lead is securely pushed in and try another transmission.

    2. If the light is RED please check the problem solving page for your Clicker by clicking on the picture at the top of this page.

    If this still fails and you are using a USB cable you may need to reinstall the USB driver.

    To do this please click here to find the correct USB driver for your computer and follow the instructions.

    If transmission still fails please also follow this checklist for further solutions for USB driver and connection problems, or contact us for more help.

    If you receive any other message please contact us with full details of the error.
