Thank you for the reply Aesop! You've been very helpful! :rotfl:
Think I'll take up that offer of extra help, Just one more question
I use firefox as my primary browser because I've had a nasty virus prone experience with I.E, and it seems to conflict with all the websites I like to go on.
Do you think that if I use I.E for shop and scan and firefox for my normal browsing it'll cause any problems, as the old I.E I had was so slow and unresponsive and it used to conflict with Firefox all the time,if that makes sense...
Btw, sorry for bombarding you with queries I do realise you're not technical support, but you seem very wise.....
Hi Shanelle, sorry to butt in to the convo. I have I.E 8 running alongside Firefox and Chrome and it seems to work ok. I only use I.E8 for Shope and Scan, it's still v slow but as I only use it for this I just let it load up then continue looking at other stuff via chrome or Firefox. Hope this helps?:A0 -

lol. don't let the name fool you!
I only use IE for shop and scan, so only open it when I need to use shop and scan to transmit. Otherwise I use FF, Googlechrome and rarely Safari.
It doesn't interfere with FF, if you change your settings so that any website you want only opens with FF, you will be fine.
You will need to use IE for shop and scan, otherwise it does not work.0 -
Hi,
I have just got an invitation to join this panel, and i have been looking for an invite since really long and finally i got invited:j:j
I am very excited about this...good day for me especially after my paypal reinsated and now an invitation to this.!!
What i want to ask about this is do you only get awarded after you scan the items and thats how it works, the more items you scan the more points you get or you also get points otherwise? like weekly or through surveys?
Also how many points you get for one item scan? i know you need 10000 points to qualify for a voucher and Does it need to be a new purchase after you joined or it could be any item bought before joining the panel?0 -

well done on getting invited :j it is so exciting
you only get points awarded after a successful weekly scan. They like you to submit before Sunday evening and usually award 1100 points on Tuesday. But these are the only points you get. You don't get more points for more barcodes. It is a case of scanning and uploading, could be 54, could be 104.
yes the scans must be after you have joined the panel.
They do say they may sometimes send you surveys and you will get points for this, but I haven't had any yet.
I would like to say something... don't use the same barcodes every week, ie don't cut out some and keep reusing them. They do analyse the data you send them, and if they see a repetitive pattern, they will stop your shop and scan, and ask for the scanner back.0 -

A surefire way to prevent this, and also of course to earn extra points, is to also upload your receipts. This gets an extra 500 points per week plus of course it proves you bought the things you say you did; I tend to buy the same brand and amount of bread, milk, eggs, etc every week from the same retailer on the same day.0 -

yes, good point. I meant though, that if someone thinks I know, easy money, I will just cut out some barcodes and keep scanning the same ones every week and submit, as I know someone who did, they will soon suss this and stop your account.0 -

Hi Aesop
Sorry for bothering you again, but I'm having another problem *sigh* yet again....
When I was downloading the software via internet explorer I clicked on the Active X banner that came up and installed it. Nothing seemed to be happening after a while so i assumed it was done and clicked the continue button to confirm I'd downloaded the software. It let me continue but I closed the window, as I don't have any form of software or icon on my desktop, is the software something you can click on and open or one of those hidden thingies that are there but not a program as such. Sounds confusing... but I'm hoping you know what I mean....
xx
Thanks in advance0 -
I think it must install something that just operates in the background.
You don't need to open anything to log in, just go to the website.0 -
