i`ve also had webview for a while & it does`nt interfere with anything on my computer. i did email tns to ask about the security issue because of secure site passwords & they assured me it would``nt record that data, only records which sites you visit most often.
as for nielson, i`ve given up on that & stopped scanning. iwhen they phone i keep asking for packaging to be sent so i can return the dreaded wand but am still waiting! shopand scan is far better & i save the points then exchange for vouchers at christmas/birthdays which i either give as presents or use to buy presents with.Helen0 -
Thank you both for replying. Like I said, I'm naturally paranoid so I needed re-assurance that it was ok to sign up. I really want to get an invite for the Food on the Go
scheme though!0 -
I've just received an invitation from Shop & scan about WebView which is "an exciting new research project all about measuring how people in Britain are using the internet".
I will get 2,500 points for signing up, an additional 2,500 after a month and an extra 500 reward points for every month of participation.
As far as I can tell, I will be required to install a software, state who is using the browser and it just runs in the background. The email says that it will not record any login details etc. which is fine but I'm always paranoid.
Anyone else receive this email? I it states that it's a new project but has anyone been part of this beforehand?
i've had this installed for several weeks now, like another member said it doesn't interfere with the running of your browsers or anything. It doesn't work in Chrome though, only Firefox and Internet explorer.0 -

Doesn't work with Opera either, which makes me wonder just how accurate any statistics TNS supply to their customers is, not that I care too much, I just collect the points for having it installedEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
My scanner has stopped transmitting. I've tried changing the batteries myself but it hasn't made any difference so it looks as though I'll have to return it. Anyone got any idea how long it takes them to send a new one? I've almost got enough points for something I've been saving for for ages and have already missed a couple of weeks worth of points...0
