Dial A Phone - Top cashback - Problem

Anyone else experienced this?

I'm trying to buy a phone contract with Dial A Phone going through the Top Cashback site.
I get to the payment screen and their system tells me that there's a problem with my card. I tried twice with my credit card and once with my debit card. All three times, the verified by Visa page comes up and I enter my password.

Now, I am blocked from the Dial A Phone site because it says I have put the wrong details through three times.

First Direct tell me they can see from their end that I have done the verifled by Visa process three times and done it correctly. The third time (debit card) Dial A Phone actually took 1p from my account.

Dial A Phone say they can process my order over the phone but not with the cashback.

Am I smelling a large rodent?

Oh, and I know my credit card details are OK, I used it this afternoon to buy something from Wallis.

This has been reported before when people try to get cashback deals with Dial-A-Phone!

Ah! My suspicions were right then.

Can you recommend another phone company who does good deals who don't have that problem? I'm used to walking into the o2 shop on Oxford Street and speaking to a person but they don't do the Desire HD.

I usually prefer using TCB, but as Qudco offer £5 more I used them in Feb without problems. £50 tracked and paid already.
And, just in case, a reminder: use IE and clear the cookies.

OK Grumbler, I'll try that tomorrow. Hopefully, Dial-A-Phone will have unblocked me by then.

    What a palaver!

What phone/deal are you after?! Sometimes Quidco offer better cashback deals if you go direct to the mobile provider rather than through a third party.

Just discovered that I already have a Quidco account from ages ago.

    Cross your fingers for me!

    It's a Desire HD on o2.

o2 don't do the Desire HD though.

Yay! Finally worked with Quidco this morning.

How soon can I cancel the insurance? Do I have to wait to receive the phone?

Thanks for your help with this, Grumbler (and MorrisonsEmployee).

Can you see me smiling?? :))

You can enjoy it free for a month, then cancel at the last moment (you'll have to phone them I think). Cancel the DD in you bank account at the same time.
Also watch out for Cancelling TMTI Gadget Helpline if they include it.

Yes, the gadget add-on is also included. I'll set myself an Outlook reminder.
    Thanks.
