Hi everyone...well been busy running around today...backwards and forwards like a yoyo....had to go to vauxhall to take a form back .....and to order blanks for the ashtrays as believe it or not the customers steal ashtrays out of the cab!!!...then had to go to my insurance broker...I was in there 21/2 hours!!!!one good thing though ...he gave me a quote to make the zafira into a private car of £680 fully comp...as I haven't had a private car for nearly 3 years so on most companies would've lost my no claims bonus having not used it...he phoned my old insurer who confirmed I had 5 years no claims bonus....I now have fully comp..all singing all dancing, legal protection, european cover, replacement car, protected guaranteed no claims bonus...for....£329.74....so think that's quite good so bought that!!!...see next post as don't want to retype this ...sorr0

So that starts 9th august....so next thing was as Zafira is taxi until 8th august (pits test for new vectra)....had to insure the vectra as well to be taxi from mon 30th july until 7th september ...as this is when the Zafiras insurance would've been due....so will then get great quote for the next year as if I'd changed insurance now would've lost this years NCD for the sake of 5 weeks!!!
If this wasn't enough hassle I took the copy of insurance for new car to vauxhall so that they could tax the car ready for monday pick up....and becuse it didn't state my name on the certificate as it's an any driver policy they didn't believe I was insured!!!...give me strength...so had to phone insurance up again who laughed and said that vauxhall obviously don't understand cab insurance....I said to vauxhall that I'd cancel my order and go to a specialist taxi dealership...they said I'd lose my deposit...I said fine ...he went to have a word with his boss...who miraculously will be able to tax the car now!!!!....they totally did my head in.....no housework done as spent all day sorting this out...
Sorry for the long rant!!!!0 -
Hi taxi - well done on getting them to match the bank rate! As you said, pre DFW days you probably wouldn't have questioned it and you would have kissed good bye to over £800! So well done you!
And yes you have been busy! :T
PS Don't worry about housework when you've had all that nonsense to sort out!!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Hi LA....vauxhall have totally done my head in...and...I will not be buying my next new car from them..I will be getting it from a specialist taxi firm...but...I think I've covered everything now...I just have to confirm the appointments for the 7/8 august...I'll do that tommorrow....
Not done anything DF today except save on the car insurance...so guess that's good....I also paid it in full so not to get a credit charge for it....0 -
You know you are a DFW when you blatantly *do* do a DFW thing (i.e. the insurance) then say "I haven't done much today..."

yes, well done, with the money you saved on the loan - and now the car insurance that's over £1000 that you have saved in the last couple of days:j ..........definately wouldn't class that as not doing much:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Sophiesmum...thanks...he does appreciate my efforts and leaves all the finances to me as he doesn't have a clue...it's hard work in some ways but easier in others...debt usually frightens him so never really used to discuss it with him but he understands how we ended up getting in debt....most of it was to support a business that was going under but luckily we have turned it around and in a few weeks we can really start making a dent in the debt....omg hadn't looked at it like that over £1000...that's good going that...I'd be rich if I could save that each week...lol0
