Hi everyone..hope you're all well...well took the car for MOT today and it cost me £185 as it needed a flush and brake discs...I think this is terrible...so have changed garages as of today...got a bit of cleaning done and been to doctors(£6.65) prescription..off to dentist tommorrow as I broke a tooth...more money...
Guess I'll end up coming back to a bigger overdraft...ahh well...nothing I can do about it...though it's annoying...I'll get sorted when I come back...other than that I'm still being good in the other areas..Roll on Thursday...OH is in a bit of a mood as he's now worrying about the hotel...I'm never going to pre-book again...what's the point...I may as well get a last minute deal...as even picking an hotel 10 months early doesn't guarantee it..and you're paying more!!!...I got this for his 50th birthday and he said today why don't we just cancel and that will stuff them!!!...he's so annoyed...I would've cancelled but it's been planned for so long...perhaps it will be ok..0 -
Hi taxi. Sorry to hear about all the extra expense of recent days....you've been doing so well! Just look at it (if you can - and you may well be doing so anyway!) as a blip. Things can get sorted when you get back.
Airtours...well, remind me to never book with them! God if only the realised how many people read your diary and how many of them will avoid them! I really can't believe that, you booked TEN MONTHS ago and they kick you off the list. That's outrageous, I can't believe many people booked earlier than that. Fools.
Well I hope your alternative hotel is gorgeous and you have no further problems.
I hope hubby soon cheers up, there is no point being so miffed about it that it affects the here & now and worse, potentially the holiday. It'll still be a nice hotel I am sure and so many people would give their right arm to get away like this....I hope he can cheer up soon.
I know it's annoying and they (Airtours) are gits, but he mustn't let them spoil it.
You sounds quite chipper though taxi! Keep it up gal!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Hi LA...the spending is stuff that needs to be paid for anyway...so I still think I've been good...lol...none of it is wasted money...
He's in a better mood now .....we have to accept it at the moment....though it will get sorted when I get back...that I'm sur of...Airtours will never see a penny from me again...I booked the holiday through a First Choice shop and they are excellent....first choice had sold out of what I wanted so sold me the Airtours one....they are really annoyed with Airtours so I have got their backing which helps!!!
I'm sure everything will be ok....I just have to go with the flow ..only 2 days to go now...0 -

I can't believe they have done that to you - what is the point of booking early??? Outrageous. But as LA says - don't let it spoil your holiday. You've worked hard for this - you are going to a gorgeous place - and the new hotel will with a bit of luck be as nice as the one you wanted (if it isn't take notes and photos and roast airtours when you get back - they must be contractually obliged to provide you with an equivalent hotel - so if anything is lacking kick off). But I am sure you are going to have a fantastic time.
Only 2 days to go. I am so envious!0 -
yep can't wait!!!..silly me it's monday today...so 3 sleeps!!!0

Make sure you have a wonderful time and I hope the new hotel works out better (or they give you lots of free stuff to make up for it). Now be sure to have lots of fun while the rest of us are stuck here in the horrid storms we want to hear lots of stories of warm places when you get back. :TOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 234 Proud to be dealing with my debts I love the Dave Ramsey podcasts. Glad your tooth is fixed - I guess that's not a horrendous amount to have to pay either really. Did you think it would be more?Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

hi Taxi
Hope you have a good holiday, bad news about the change of hotels but know how it feels. Two years ago we went to Austria ski ing, booked twelve months in advance and they rang and changed the hotel 2 days before we flew out, apparently the hotel had not passed its local fire certificate that year. The official version was that it was overbooked, but we went to the hotel and spoke to the waiters as the bar was open to the public.
Anyway when we got there the hotel was actually better:D.
We wrote anyway when we got home as we had picked the original hotel as it was close to the cablecar station, we got a cheque for £100 for the inconvenience.
Wishing you success in your quest for compensation.
