Hi taxi
Saw your trailer when I got on this morning, well done you! It must have been so hard coping with those payments that were way more than what they should have been, how nice to have a serious level of pay off now. I'm self employed too, so I really feel for you. Great stuff!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Good Morning ,Taxi.
Only just seen your wonderful news:o or I'd have been much quicker in congratulating you. The relief must be so good after all the knocks you've taken this year and if anyone deserves some good luck it's you. No wonder you're ecstatic. Your happiness is contagious and I'm sure all your friends on here are celebrating with you:beer: .
I know you are off work today so that list of tidying and other jobs will be done in no time, seeing as you are probably on wings of joy still:rotfl: .
Take care

Morning all...well I've been really lazy so far....I've had a lie in until 9.40 am....as I feel so relaxed!!!!....I've not had a shower or anything yet...done my clicks and online banking etc.
As it's mine and DHs day off today I don't know what we are going to do yet.He has physio at 12pm...so I thought I'd clean under the stairs then and think of something to do after. It's just nice to feel relaxed but funny enough didn't think I felt stressed until I relaxed...IYSWIM..
Have just transferred another £40 into holiday fund so will amend my sig ...
It's so nice to have the support on here both for when you're down and also for when there is something to celebrate.
I agree it was really hard making payments when I really didn't have the money but am determined this will never happen again...it's like a fresh start!!!...if after a year of putting the money away in the tax fund there is any left over then that can be used to pay debt off or get any household jobs done that need doing(there arew loads of them as well)...
Hope you all have a lovely day at work or whatever you have planned today and have plenty of smiles...take care xxx0 -
Hi taxi
Are you still thinking of getting your kitchen extended? You mentioned that a while ago. That could be a use for any 'spare' money as well.
Hope you have a nice day off togetherTotal debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Morning all..hope everyone is well...
Seaxwyn...sorry I didn't reply yesterday as I started typing something then DH came in so had to stop as the car was in the middle of the road..
In answer to your question I do want the kitchen extended along with a complete makeover of the house. So that was a good suggestion ,thanks.
What I've been thinking recently is to clear the CCs first as these are 0% and I don't want to apply for anymore.I'm going to put £100 p/w away for tax which will be too much but at least it will be there..so any surplus in a january can be used for a job that needs doing in the house...
I don't know what to do about my loans as they don't seem to be worth paying off early..so I was thinking of letting them run their course,maybe...my tie in on my mortgage runs out in march and I have an appointment in JAn to sort this out....at the moment I owe approx £47k on it and it has about 18 years to run costing about £380 p/m...I was thinking of putting it on 10 years but I want to seriously overpay to finish it in 4 years...the 10 year price is £520 p/m ...so I think it may be better just to concentrate on the mortgage rather than the loans...
What do you lot think? as I really don't know what to do....
You may well be wondering why I'm posting at this time...well...I got up late and have missed the morning rush so am going to clean the house today as DD2 announced last night a mobile hairdresser is coming to do her hair tonight!!!!!...the house is a tip....but I'm having mine washed and coloured also £20...what a bargain...and cut
I cleared under the stairs yesterday and dropped it at the charity shop and then we went for dinner and a few glasses of wine...so I fell asleeep when I came home...hence couldn't get to sleep until 3am this morning...couldn't get up..so no work...lol
So will have to work longer at weekend then I'll catch the money up...have a good day everyone xxx0 -
Hi Taxi, lovely to see you out and about in your diary at this time of day for a change. It sounds as if you had a nice evening. You deserve a treat every now and then as you work so hard to sort out your debts the rest of the time. That's one of the joys of being self-employed i suppose, if you miss a day's work you can always make it up at the next opportunity. Just don't overdo it tomorrow.
Your hairdressing plans sound great and well worth a bit of housework. Pity your newly glamorous self will have to spend tomorrow sitting in a cab!
Sorry I can't help with your debt-paying plans. I can't sort out my own problems:o so there's not much chance I can help anyone else with theirs, especially as you seem to have done wonders as it is.
Have a nice day

Afternoon Imp....I did have a nice evening thanks for asking. love being SE for that reason...I usually finish between 1pm -2pm but will finish at 5pm both sat and sun..so will make the money up then...
I've got a lovely clean house now(except the kitchen)...I roped dd in when she came back from town...she bought me a lovely surprise ...a nice bunch of flowers..so that was nice...
So am looking forward to having my hair done tonight in a very MSE way as the hairdresser works in one of the most expensive salons but he is a friend of my other daughters..hence getting it on the cheap...so quite DFW...
Hope you've had a nice day as well. take care xx0 -

Just caught up & that FAB news!! Great for you & really chuffed! How was the hair cut? Great that you can pick & choose when yo work being SE but I would struggle being on my own without SSP being on my tod! Couldnt cope emotionaly with financial uncertainty - would do my head in and interest rate hikes are bad enough (soon to be fixed with new fixed rate mort!!). Realy happy for you though and look forward to signature decrease! Hugs for you my friend!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Afternoon all my friends ...hope you are all well..
LA...I desperately wanted to shout it from the roof tops as it was such a huge relief and means that I won't ever be in this position again so it has sort of changed a lot of things...
FF the haircut and coloring was great...I have my own colour plus loads of red and blondes...then he cut it blow dried it and used straighteners to flick it out and put loads of products in...DD1 popped in and said WOW...you've made my mum look really vogue...I think thats a good thing...lol...
Not a lot of debt busting going on as I started work at 9 am and finished at 1.30pm....I so hate myself when I get up late..I don't like to start any later than 7am....it must have been all that housework yesterday that wore me out...
Looking forward to monday in a strange kind of way as I will be making a large overpayment on my barclays CC....how sad is that that I look forward to paying debts off...how rich am I going to be when I've paid all my debts off...can't wait until that day...that will be some party...better stop dreaming and get my jobs done ..lol...
Have a good weekend everyone xxx0
