so basically management is willfully creating a strike situation by not reinstating a driver it unfairly dismissed. and i thought bob crow was bloody minded.
Lets be honest here, if teh management wanted to be really bloody minded, they could find thousands of people who could be trained to do the job in a couple of months and would do it for at least 30% less than the current employees. Driving a tube is not very difficult.0

            As it currently stands.
so you think it would be an improvement to change it?
only likely to seriously impact on the work ethic, competency, commitment and standard of the workforce.
it's rare that you encounter a bad tube driver or station attendant these days. compare that to the transport sectors with non unionised labour (e.g. minicab drivers / controllers) where it's all a lot more hit and miss. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0

No they don't. Stop propogating myths.
I'm top of my pay scale, and there's nowhere for me to progress in the organisation I work for, which is the 'third sector' delivering services in London Boroughs."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".

 They are not recruiting.0

I don't think you want a bonus culture in some public sector jobs where the focus is on quality - not quantity.0

It would drive down costs and probably lead to less disruption due to strikes. I do not believe that it would lead to a lessening in quality either as employees would know that if they did not do their job properly, they would be out.
Probably not that relevent anymore as I would suspect that tubes will be driverless before long anyway.0
