I have just copied and pasted this from the royal mail website it is the reciept form my last letter that I sent recorded delivery
Item AH828190****GB was posted at ********* on 19/03/11 and is being progressed through our network for delivery
now what do I do??
It might still have been delivered. I sent a recorded letter to them in September. I had the same message as the one you've quoted on the Royal Mail website and was sure that my letter had not got to HMRC but Royal Mail told me that sometimes HMRC don't actually "sign for" the recorded delivery since they get so many and if there is a pile of recorded delivery letters they only "sign for" the top one!!!
About 6 weeks later, I rang HMRC and my letter was on file. I then checked the Royal Mail website again and it still said "being progressed through our network for delivery" even though HMRC had clearly received my letter.
I would keep trying to ring HMRC -but I know it's a pain waiting in the queue!0 -
