  • I've had Broadband with Plusnet since they bought Metronet some years back and I've been very pleased. The "Value" package has suited various relatives who have limited need for the Internet well.

I've had the odd problem over the years which they have been very good at resolving. The UK call centre and technical support who actually know something are a great advantage over suppliers who offshore these things.

One other thing, if the "free" router suits your needs it is the easiest set up I have ever known of anything computer related.

    Hi,

Thanks all. Has anyone tried the Plusnet/Primus combination as recommended on the main site?

    Cheers

I've been with Plusnet for about 3 years and am changing next week from BT to Primus.

Plusnet response to online tickets can be rather sluggish but they are quite good at txting updates to mobile.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

Can I ask an off topic question... what do I have to do to be able to post links on here?

I've been with Plusnet for years. Leaving now due to saving £250 a year by moving everything to Sky as local exchange has LLU for Sky/TT but nobody else and no plans for upgrade. Never had a problem with the service other than a couple of down times due to scrotes thieving cable but that took down loads of ISPs. Even on evenings, speeds were good.

Its a shame to leave but I can't ignore the £250 saving and getting double the speed.

Couple of points about plusnet value package

    1) the 10GB limit is durng the day - between midnight to 8am there is no limit

    2) Dont bother trying to download peer to peer torent files as they are traffic shaped at all hours - instead download files directly from download sites such as rapidshare, hotfile, fileserve, filesonic etc as these download at maximum speed overnight
