And over here in Northern Ireland you're stuffed with these big offers. I live in one of the biggest towns over here yet the closest participating store is 15 miles (plus parking costs) away and the next closest (free parking) is 20 miles.

The WHS at Manchester Piccadilly train station has participated in the last three Mirror lego giveaways ... on weekdays they are prepared for my arrival c.8:30, but at the weekend I normally have to make the duty manager go and find the box for me! They've also given me multiple packets on the weekend, as far fewer people want them (I got a dozen of the Xmas tree packs!)

That was the Mirror, not The Sun. In the MSE bargains mail it clearly states the Smiths will only be high street ones and not hospital or train stations. Picked up the paper today and can also confirm there is no coupon send off option available.

I sent DH to Walton On Thames and they claim they don't have them in stock yet and are chasing them up. I bet they have them in stock out back but are too lazy to sort through their boxes. Surely they get these a few days in advance? They sure did when the mirror did them.

So it seems like a race to see who can get to the right WH Smiths at the right time to be in with a chance of getting the lego. Top marks to The Sun, WH Smiths and their Lego promotors for such great organisation!
  • Here, not to be cynical but...........

LEGO Jacks' Boat on Ebay, nearly 100 sold, been listed for most of last week. Perhaps unscrupulous employees? Very unfair.

If you check through the listings youll probably find all 7 of the sets available, even though they arent in the shops.

Rang "Toys" yesterday, theyve all the boxes for the week, labelled "open on specific day"

Yep, they would already have them. Most of the sets are already listed on Ebay with a note from sellers that they will post after May x (where x is the day that particular set becomes available).

At least the nice guy at WHS at Piccadilly told me that he didn't have the Lego before I even picked up the newspaper - he's got used to me asking for these things ;)

PS mrwhizzard - my post was written before the weekly email.

Wasn't trying to correct you. Just think its a bit short sighted of The Sun to not use all the same outlets the mirror did - so many people not going to be able to take advantage of the offer, and plenty of people who will be profiteering from the fact on Ebay!

i cannot believe that some people are selling them on ebay!!

i've come across one seller who is selling all the lego toys that are coming up in this promo. they're in the barnet, hertfordshire area....so if you come across a whsmith or toys r us in that area with no toys for the whole week...then you probably know who's to blame!

    :(

Does anyone know if the small WHSmith in Sheffield Bus Station will be likely to have any?
