When I get a wheelchair, I'm going to get one with big wheels even though I wouldn't be able to self-propel, just to that I can turn to see things if needs be (apparently people pushing you tend to face you the complete opposite to the way you want? That's what my friend says anyway :o).

I hate people playing with my chairs, I use three in a typical day, one upstairs, one down and one in the car so there is always at least one standing in the house at either the top or bottom of the stairs and if Im out another waiting in the garage for me to transfer into from the car, Im lucky that Im not very big so that my wheelchairs are all only 16" wide (stabdards are 18") so many people cant fit comfortably into my chairs but every passing kid has to have a go, especially my powerchair.

My son has liberated the mobility scooter my granda left, he is wheelieing around the courtyard in it as I type, hes left horrible marks on the laws and he can get that put right when he mows the lawn tomorrow, my granda hated him touching the scooter when he was alive because he always turned it as far to hare as he could so my nearly 90 year old granda would shoot off when he got on it at he didnt have very good reflexs to react to the change.

id be really put out as its yours, i used to get sick of people taking my sticks and trying them and it is such a vulnerable feeling to know you cant do anything untill they bring them back.

My new powerchair to drive from is going to be a bit wider to allow more support, the same type as I normally drive from, my leather driver seat but I will only be using two wheelchairs then because I will be driving out of the car in that powerchair and so it will replace both car and downstairs wheelchair with my little powerchair being redeployed unpstairs which will really help my upstairs mobility and I can get rid of the rope which I have to use via my better hand to drag myself about upstair when no one is their to push me at that second.

Wish me luck that one of the three drive from cars Im seeing on monday work for me, I am currently using one of my husbands cars and I still have no independance because I cant load/unload my powerchair or use a manual chair, I havent been out alone in over two years and I cant wait for some independance.

I'm only a part time user but it 'grates' me when people mess around with my wheelchair. It's a 16" but most of my friends are small like me so most are able to get into it and go around in it.

I have to remind one certain friend that she can't sit on me while I'm in the wheelchair as, not only would it hurt me a lot, the wheelchair won't take the weight of us both and could break! It's not that either of us are big either, both around 9 and a half stone, but the max weight it can take is 16 stone (I believe).

I do wonder do others get angry if the person pushing them is silly while doing so? Such as weaving in and out of people in a hurry narrowly missing the people they are weaving in and out of.

I also hate it when people move my crutches out of my reach as I can't get around without my crutches or my wheelchair. If neither are near me I am screwed and can not get around.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
