I know, they're just not thinking are they.

It annoys me when we have people to stay and they sit on mine and hubby's settee. We always cosy up together to watch telly but when people stay they always pinch our seat even though there's other seats.
    Grr.

I'm hoping to get a wheelchair when OH and I move out of his parents (I have M.E. Walking leaves me exhausted and in pain so it will be for outside use). I'm not sure how I'll feel about people sitting in it just yet. Will most likely just have to wait until the time comes but I do know loads of people who think that having a wheelchair is "cool". =/

The one thing that does concern me is OH saying that he's going to push me down a hill and let go. OH is actually the sort of person who would do that!

If someone started messing about in my hubby's wheelchair (he's not got one yet but he's considering it) I'd give them a quick slap. Cheeky beggers.

I was just asking my friend about this and she said that when her dad sits in her chair she gets really bossy. :p

  • I only get narked when someone is t*tting around with my various torture implements (braces, strapping, crutches and the like) if they make any adjustments to them, as it takes forever to get them just right. But I have kids, so am used to little fingers poking and picking up and fiddling with things - I made a point saying DD was allowed to play my bass guitar, because making it forbidden would make it so much more appealing to her. She has never touched it.

    Reverse psychology. It works.

    Good idea. :)

Or keep a duster handy and say while you're sitting it in you might as well give it a clean ;)

  • I have just got my manual wheelchair and even though I can't self propell, and my mum (carer) can't push me I found myself getting very possessive when she suggested that one of her old friends might benefit from using it on a day out they're having. No idea why. It might just be this particular woman, or it might be the idea it's self.

I agree about people messing about with settings on things too, it's so much hassle to try and get the right setting/hole/strength etc back the right way.
