  • i went to camber sands a few years ago when they was doing the freebies, me and kids had a great time. we used to place as a base to eat and sleep. my apartment was old but wasnt dirty. i just went round with bleach and anti bac spray.

if you have a car theres is so many places around the resort to visit, if you dont the beach is great and theres a bus stop right outside that takes you into town

i was hoping to do this deal but im skint at the moment

if you do visit try to get into romney and go on the miniture railway, its great

What age do you have to start paying for people if i go in september i have a 1yr old and a 2yr old do i have to pay for them. I dont mind doing so as its a cheap holiday but dont want to pay for them if i dont have to :-)

Think you pay per apartment as when we looked online it was the same price for friends to come and 3 of them 4 of us, they base the £4pppn on maximum number sharing but still a great deal

Wow, thanks for this, i'm really looking forward to the only holiday i can afford this year now.

On a more constructive note, anyone who like me is on a strict budget and has booked, hope you have a fab time. Holidays are what you make them and me and me and the kids intend to have a wonderful time xx
I hope that it's really really improved since the one and only time I went 3 years ago. Our first family holiday in 15 years and we literally found the money and booked a short caravan break at butlins for 2 months later to get over it as we felt so bad for our daughter.

Holidays are what you make of it I agree. However some circumstances dont permit you to even halve a half decent time through no fault of your own.

The blue coats were very ignorant imo of children with special needs, and felt it all good fun to have a laugh at my son who at the time couldnt pronounce his name properly. The kids mascots turned up at the play area when and if they could be bothered. The chalet was cramped and the sofa bed and bedding brought me out in a rash, and thats before I even start about the shower which had a timer attached and always chose to stop as I was mid hair wash.

The place recommended for good food was the cafe over the road out of camp (by some kind security guard) which says something when even the staff think food is better off camp lol. The one time we did buy a meal on camp was when we bought breakfast the final morning. My son wanted cereal and it beggars belief but we had to pay for the milk to go on it, despite having paid for the cereal already.

People arent trying to be unkind by pointing out their own experiences, I know I wish I had read reviews beforehand , would have saved me a ton of money. Unfortunately for us, we couldnt afford to leave early as we dont drive, and had prebooked train tickets.

I hope that it has been refurbished and is in a modern condition as well as being clean. Coul;d be a great camp with a lot of money spent on it.

Thanks for this Blabberwort, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I have been before and our accommodation was basic but clean and a great base for the local area, the kids had a great time which in turn meant we got a break too. I agree everyones opinions and experiences are different

Hi, we love Pontins, we have been to several but our favourate is Prestatyn, it is very basic but then it is a holiday camp and not the Ritz, £40 odd quid for a holiday is an absolute bargain and the children love it!!! There is always something for the children to do and the blue coats are great with them, remember that they are doing it for the love of the job, not the money because they get next to nowt!

We went to cornwall last year and paid over £200 for a piece of grass to put the tent on, so you cant go wrong with this.

Make the most of it, have some great days out, enjoy the entertainment and you'll have a great time xxxxxx

Wow, isn't that just nasty! Trying to work out how to fit in our own into the car now...
But surely then, you'll have to thoroughly wash your own quilts. You wouldn't put them on your own bed when you get home after being in one of those bug infested chaklets would you???
personally I'd rather slum it with theirs for a week and get a good shower when we get home than take anything from my house into one of those chalets and then take it back in again!!!!

We've been to Pontins 2 or 3 times a year every yr and have to say never seen any problem with a duvet.
That said people always amaze me. Unless you take your shoes off and wash your haNDS AND CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES EACH TIME YOU ENTER YOUR HOME YOU ARE TAKING IN COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF GERMS FROM EVERTYONE! (Ooops sorry for caps)
Do you wash your hands when you get in from the supermarket? How many people, including men who've had a poo and not washed their hands, have handled those trollies and all the stuff in the shop??? Think about it lol

(By the way, we DO remove our shoes and wash our hands when go in. Cos u fortunately I DO think about these things!! lol)
I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...
  • we taking sleeping bags with us and when bk going in the wash haha
  • as anyone been recently?we go at wkend and dreading it now!!

We went to South Port 2 weeks ago, it was so bad we ended up leaving early :(

The evening entertainment was fab and the kids loved it. But unfortunately that was the only positive.

The accommodation was awful, the carpets were filthy, beds smelt really bad and the kitchen equipment consisted of 1 saucepan and 2 knifes!!!!

We went in the swimming pool, as we got in I noticed the lifeguard pulling out poo and putting it into a public bin. They didn't close the pool for cleaning. We got straight out, even my 13 year old son who loves swimming asked to get out straight away :(
  • awww really???dont kno what to do then....the kids r really looking forward to it,
