Money saving addiction

Options
I think all this money saving Milarky is causing me great anxiety. Especially at Christmas.

I mean I have just spent a while on the tesco website selecting games and stuff for Christmas. The good thing was they were in stock. But then I thought , maybe there is a code out there? Perhaps Toys' r us are cheaper... So I did not purchase my basket. :o
The Toys' r us website was out of stock of most of the things I wanted, and anyway I would have only saved £5 or so...
I did save about £50 on a washing amchine the other day, but it took 3 weeks to do it....
It's all gone mad... I tell you.
Where shall I get my wine for Christmas? Threshers 40% off, but sainsbury has 25% off 6 or more, and I can get my friends staff discount on top, but then there is tescos offer.....

Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :xmassign: Bahh humbug

I have long since given up. I'm just mean.

    Christmas, bah humbug.
  • I'm a complete meany - I get all panicky at the thought of parting with any money, and agonise so long over any new purchase that by the time i've been through a few price comparison websites, checked the r and rs for tesco, looked at the cashback sites to see if i can purchase through them, scanned ebay and been through all the WHICH best buys to make sure what i'm going for is the best, then everything is out of stock, or i've run out of time....
so if it's not from freecycle, the jumble sale or a car boot then if it's not a utility bill we pretty much do without it.
I'm having a zero cost Xmas this year (all second hand or bought with freebie vouchers from pigsback and survey sites), not just because it's green and non-commercial, but because i've become an MSE addict and dither forever over trying to find the best deal.
If enough of us end up like this, the capitalist economy will fall to its knees!!:T

    Hi,
once a while it's good to be addicted. Have you ever thought about how much of our hard worked money we can waste in a lifetime for unnecessary shopping and how more pleasant your life can be with just a little effort and a lot less waste?
And have you noticed how people can be kind with us, just because they are interested in our money?
This month I received my credit card statement, it was 0 (zero), probably the first time in my life and I felt really proud.
Another thing that comes with that is feeling more confident, you don't owe any explanation to anybody, it's your money and it's there to please you not them.
    Greetings to all.

Its also good to just accept that at some point no matter how hard you try to find the best bargain / price 2 weeks later you will find it cheaper, I now work on if its a lot cheaper and in stock i buy it, if its a little more expensive but no where has stock i buy it, I had to do this last week as our fridge freezer had been on its last legs for months 2 week ago it died andf it was at this point i realised i had probably spenting more time effort and money getting new milk every day that if we had just got a new one when if first started dying.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

I now have most of the presents bought, and I think I did OK. I am not happy that people have found a cheaper deal than I did, but at the time I could'nt even get one in stock.
I am trying to be content now that I have the stuff bought and soon to be wrapped and the pressure is off.

BUT I even bought stuff I did not want today with Tesco and Amazon just to get the extra clubcard points and free delivery.......

    I mean addictive or what?
