Vodafone Signal
                    Hi,
I am 11 months into a 2 year contract with Vodafone, I have a nice HTC phone from them at a monthly cost, and package that suits me fine...
Last October/November the transmitter in my town developed a major fault and Vodafone played games with us in relation to when it was going to be fixed. It took them 5 weeks to fix, and that was only after the intervention of our local Scottish MP and the national media.
All has been fine untill Wednesday last week, when the transmitter went down again. When I called Vodafone on the Thursday they said they were aware of the fault and it would be fixed within 48hrs.
Today is the 9th day of no signal!
I have spoken to Vodafone several times and keep getting the runaround from them, they will not commit to a repair time scale, exactly the same story as last year.
When I called them yesterday afternoon (the most recent), I was told the fault was only logged that morning, which is strange as I (and several other people) had already told them about the problem.
The guy I spoke to told me that I had a setting wrong on my phone and told me to change it. He actually told me to switch the phone back down to 2G from the 3G service that I have been using with no problems, it did'nt improve the reception one little bit! I still have no signal!
Firstly when I signed up for the contract I thought I was going to get a 3G service, considering the package includes unlimited data, 2G is seriously slow and not worth using for mobile internet.
Secondly, I believe they have failed to offer a consistant and reliable service!
Where do I stand in terms of getting my contract terminated?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Mark.

I was in a similar situation to you, I infact moved house to an area with no signal and I still had to pay for my contract (even thought I didnt have signal), anyway I got a vodafone sure signal of ebay for around £40 and it solved my problem.
incase you dont know, vodafone sure signal acts at mini vodafone mast in your home. you plug it into your pc's USB slot and it provides you full 3g service through your home internet service.
you will have to pay for it but you will never loose 3g service, its worth a try, have a look on ebay or amazon0

 Wrong. http://blog.hargrave.org.uk/2010/01/vodafone-sure-signal-review.html
3G isn't just for internet. Calls can be made over it too . Although they charge for this most providers will normally provide it for free in an attempt to avoid bad PR and lose a customer. 0 . Your case is different you (or somene you are close to) chose to move house, it's different if you stay where you are and the signal goes away..0
