Recent CitiBank Applicant?

Does anyone know if they actually pay the cheque into the account? I sent a cheque for £20 and received everything but the cheque has not been cashed or paid in to my account.

Not sure loneranger, I was just told it was for name and signature verification and I could make my initial deposit at Lloyds when I received my account numbers, from some of the posts on the thread, it seems they haven't cashed a few cheques....

Well I too have just taken the plunge and applied for this account. Will let you know how I get on!

My credit score is poor, which I find odd. I have no CCJ's, but I have 2 defaults. One for £48 and the other for approx £160. Both settled and both over 2 years old.

Cannot open a bank account elsewhere for love nor money :mad:

Have you requested a copy of your credit file seems a bit strange that you can't get a bank account

Yes I have copies of my credit file, and other than what I mentioned previously, there is nothing else on there.

Have tried both :-) Declined full account but offered basic.

Which Basic Accounts have you applied for?

Did the bank staff know for certain that it was a basic account that you wanted?

I have sent my Citi bank application over a week now. I have contacted them but still under process. Has long does it take for a decision?

Has anyone been declined?

I'm worried now cause the bankers cheque I sent doesn't haqve my signature on, it has theirs on, I did send a wage slip & council tax bill & bank statements though so hope that'll be ok
