Trotting along nicely - my MFW diary

 I didn't realise it was so long since I had posted on my own diary.
This week I have cashed out £25 in Amazon vouchers from Toluna, My Survey and Nectar so I'm getting closer to that Kindle
.
Overpayments this month are now up to £280.61, but I'm not sure that I'll be able to add much more to this (except my regular overpayment of £127) as my petrol budget has already been hammered - not exactly sure why to be honest so will need to have a ponder on this.
Made some more jewellery last night (trying to keep to Monday nights being jewellery making night) and have put together a costing spreadsheet to help me price them. I made 2 bracelets and a pair of earrings but should really have managed more in the time, I just take so long to decide exactly what I am going to do.

Hi Ayeshalush,
That's great work on the survey sites. Getting what will in essence be a free kindle will make it that much sweeter to play with. I've yet to get through my podcast backlog to get onto audiobooks then the most recently downloaded library app.
I don't know if it breaks any rules on here but I'd be interested in buying some jewellery if you're selling it. Particularly silver jewellery if you do it.
Cheers,

 Just had a moment of pure panic when I read your post! Thank you so much for the interest but I'm too new at making jewellery to consider selling over the internet - although I'm pretty impressed with what I have made so far, I don't have the confidence to sell to people I don't know. Also it's semi-precious gemstones beads with sterling silver clasps, etc so I don't think it's the type of jewellery that you are looking for.
I went to a jewellery making night class earlier this year and loved it but I only ever intended to make jewellery for myself. However I can't resist the temptation to buy gemstone strands and now have enough to make jewellery to last me a lifetime or 3!:o... Hence the decision to have a jewellery party, as suggested by a couple of friends, to try and recoup some of the outlay and basically fund my hobby. I don't have any plans, at the moment, to make a business out of it.
Thank you again for your interest though, it is really appreciated.
Just hope I haven't broken any rules with what I've said above.

You are going great on the surveys.
I seem to have fits and starts at them and never want to put my computer on when I get home (unless I do I miss out on the ones that have sound as we don't have speakers at work).
I must dedicate some more time to them.
It will be nice for you to treat yourself to a kindle - things always feel extra special when you haven't had to pay for them.Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

I'm lucky in that I sit at a computer screen all day so always have a window open with a survey site on it. I also have speakers, and as its just me and my boss in the office, it's not a problem for me to watch adverts, etc (boss doesn't mind:D).
I used Amazon vouchers to treat myself to a Nintendo DS and a Kenwood Chef food mixer last year, both of which I really wanted but couldn't justify spending the money. That was my motivation for completing so many surveys. I had intended to use my vouchers for xmas and birthday presents this year (and have already done so for a couple of presents) but I am just so tempted by a kindle:o. I have enough vouchers now (or will when i receive all the codes requested) so can use the ones I earn for the rest of the year on presents. I'm very good to myself aren't I?:o That's it decided then - no more treats from Amazon (after the kindle of course) this year!

Give in to temptation and get one.
I have one and I absolutely love it, and it goes with me everywhere.
Lots of free and cheap books.
I held off buying one for a while, and even bought other cheap ereaders which ended up on Ebay after a while.0 -
Well I've done... I gave in to temptation (yet again:o - this diary seems to be more about me spending than saving!!) and ordered a Kindle!
Thanks everyone for giving me your opinions on it (I can blame you all for my giving in and spending the money now ha ha!!:D).
On a plus side, overpayments are looking quite good this month:D, so far I have overpaid £393.64, with my regular overpayment of £127 still to be added to that. I think the rest of June will just be dribs and drabs from surveys etc.

Haven't been getting much chance to update here recently. Will need to make more effort.
My kindle arrived today and I am very happy:D. On an MSE note I have so far resisted buying any books and have downloaded 4 free ones.
The £5 saving on my mobile bills I mentioned in an earlier post has now been taken by Scottish Power as they have just put my DD up by £4 a month:mad:. With that and the price rise announcement I will be dam**d if I'm going to pay them any more in a year than I did last year so I am making an extra effort to cut back on energy usage. I already have all low-energy bulbs and swith everything off completely instead of leaving on standby. I have, however, been guilty in last month or two of putting heating on in evenings as I've been a bit chilly, so from now on I will put on some socks or a jumper or snuggle under a fleecy blanket. I do like to be warm so I don't intend to take this to extremes by sitting and feeling freezing rather than putting the heating on as I can afford to pay for the gas, but any little savings I can make will be put to the mortgage overpayments. Last night when I was washing the dishes and making lunch for today it was starting to drop dark and I would usually have put the light on in the kitchen without giving it a thought, but this time I didn't as there really was still enough natural light.
I'm still keeping on top of all the survey sites I'm registered with and having been making more jewellery for my party. I showed some to a friend last week to see if she thought it was good enough to sell at my party and she was very impressed so I'm aiming for October time when people may be starting to think about xmas presents.
Anyway enough ramblings from me for tonight. Off to catch up on some more diaries.
Take care.

Hello Ayeshalush,
It looks like we started our diaries at about the same time - it's amaazing how it focusses the mind, isn't it?
I just wanted to wish you all the best on your MFW journey - looks like you'll finish a lot sooner than us!
