I wouldn't worry about housework though, in my book that can always wait ;)

Mine too!!!:D..but that's the problem, and now I'm not spending so much time at the stables I don't have the same excuse.:o As long as I get at least one job tackled a day I will be happy.

I do surveys most Friday evenings.:D Very profitable. I write most of my crown worthy reviews on a Friday night.

I am also trying to ignore my housework. My sister asked me on facebook if she could bring her new boyfriend round this weekend. I so far have pretended i haven't noticed this request in an attempt to not have it happen, but i know what she is like and she will probably just turn up, so i plan some house gutting tomorrow. Mainly hiding ironing and running a hoover round. How awful am I?

Glad I'm not the only one. :)

The worst thing about not knowing when the builder is going to make time to come and do some more bits and pieces for me is not knowing when I'm going to need the house to be fit to be seen when he comes! :o

I'm too brain dead by Friday night to write reviews, I can only just about cope with a multiple choice question or two!!:D Although, maybe I should have another look at DY. I did a while ago but I can't remember if I've registered there or not.

As for visitors, I would just die if someone dropped round unexpectedly! If I know someone's coming I can make it look superficially ok, but if they just turned up they just couldn't come in!!! I would love to have a perfect house but it's just not happening at the moment. I have, at times, toyed with the idea of a cleaner but I just can't face having to do all the housework before she comes! I'm making it sound really bad, and it's not really but it could be a whole lot better and I have let things go a little recently. I think I've just talked myself into getting it sorted:mad: - I will write a plan of action tomorrow.

But surely that's the best excuse not to do it as he's only going to make a mess while he works, lol!:D

It's been a while since I posted, mainly because a) I just don't seem to be getting chance to do much more than read and run at the moment and b) money-wise, nothing out of the ordinary has been happening - same old surveys, ebay (only small amounts), etc.

Yet again, my head is all over the place about 1)pets and 2)moving house, and if you've read my previous posts you will know that they are a little related.

    1) firstly. I am now ready and looking forward to having another pet (or two!). A friend of mine is separating from his wife and had asked me if I oculd give their 1.5 yo cat a home. I said yes, but in the meantime his wife had found him another home, but this made me realise that I am definately ready. So.... a friend of a friend's cat had kittens 2 weeks ago and it looks like I may be getting 2 of them. I haven't seen them yet, but I would never go on looks anyway and all kittens are just adorable no matter what their markings or colouring. I've also decided that I would like a dog (for numerous reasons). I grew up with a dog but have never had one of my own. Although puppies are adorable I don't know that I want to go through the associated chewing and toilet training, so have decided to go for a youngish dog, maybe 1 or 2 ish. I did have plans to go to the SSPCA shelter in Glasgow this weekend to complete the forms and have a look around (dreading this bit as it will break my heart to only be able to give one a home and leave the rest behind) but this can't happen now, so I'm hoping to go the following weekend. I don't have a dilemma about any of this a such, just a bit excited about it all and wondering if getting the kittens and the dog all in a short period of time is such a good idea. I know, realistically it won't be an issue it's just other people keep mentioning to me that I'm taking on an awful lot in one go. I've had cats for years though, usually 2 at a time, and grew up with a dog so I know what's involved.

    2) I think I have posted before that, although my house is ok for the time being, I can't stand the thought of being in it for the rest of my life! It also is not very well situated for letting cats out and I don't think it's fair to keep the kittens as housecats. I am 41( how did this happen?!!!) and quite like having a relatively small mortgage (though would prefer none at all:D) which could be paid off in just a few years. To move to, what I would hope to be, my forever home would mean increasing my mortgage to approx £100 -£110k. This panics me a little! If I had an OH, it wouldn't so much but it is just an awful lot of money whcih depends on the security of just one wage to be paid back and who knows what could happen over the next few years, healthwise, etc (not that I know of anything but you just never know). The security of knowing that if I lost my job or my health failed in any way, the roof over my head was paid for was/is my motivation for overpaying.
....but I really want to move:cool:...to a house that both and I and any pets I have can be safe and happy. It's a dilemma. I'm not looking for anyone to solve my problem for me (unless they have a spare £110k looking for a home:D) just thought putting it all on paper, so to speak, might help me make a decision. I'm just fed up going round in circles in my head. I have spoken to my mortgage company and they will give me the mortgage I require and I can afford to pay the monthly payments, I would just have to cut back on a few luxuries but would it be worth it to get the home I want?!

Sorry to bore you all with the same old stuff again, but I really do need to make a decision once and for all as I'm so fed up thinking about it!!

On a positive note....it's the weekend in half an hour (for me anyway). Yay!!:D

Has anyone else had issues with Vivatac surveys not being credited? It's only from one particular site, the others are all ok but I have now had several from this one site (it is the 3rd in a list of 3 on my account - not sure if it's the same for others). I have e-mailed them but so far had no reply.

I also completed a survey (to do with energy suppliers) with Pureprofile today which said at the end that my account had been credited £2.00, but it hasn't. This is the first issue I've had with them. I have e-mailed and am awaiting a response. Has this also happened to anyone else?

Could you buy a house that needs some work doing to it, so the mortgage isn't as big, then you could save up and do the house up as required
    Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
    ISA challenge start 2019 £3000/£1500 (50%)

I would be happy to do this, but there are very few properties about that need much work done to them, or the ones that there are are only very slightly cheaper. This is because we are a seaside town, have great golf and have very good connections to Glasgow, only 30 mins by road, so it is a popular area for people willing to commute. So far the recession has hardly had any impact on house prices in this area. The market has definately slowed and properties are taking longer to sell, but prices don't seem to have fallen at all. I would be willing to move out of the town I currently live in, but prices are much the same in the decent areas of surrounding towns and villages.

Looks like it's going to be a quiet weekend for me - friends and family are all either on holiday or busy this weekend. At least it will be an MSE weekend then:D, and I've no excuse for not doing the housework:mad:.

Hope everyone has a great weekend (and has something more than housework to look forward to;)).

Yes - if it is the lower value one, it has never been credited for me, but has for others I know, but I randomly get extra £s added. Last week my balance got increased by £3 randomly, and whenever I do a p one my balance goes up £2. I just keep avoiding the lower value ones now.
