    Good luck, for Thursday.
We've got a Rhodesian Ridgeback, who we got before we had kids. He was quite unsure when the older one started to crawl and was suddenly interested in his feet and tail, but they are now very good friends - especially as she is now big enough to reach his treat cupboard! Number 2 is just starting to crawl now, so the poor dog is going to have to go through it all again.. We had him from a pup, and chose him for his temperament which is just lovely. Even people who are scared of dogs will pet him after a few minutes in his company because he's such a calm, big softie!
I hope the dog you like is still there, but if not then there will be another - as you say it is better to get the right one than rush into it.

Thanks Dragonrider. Your boy sounds lovely!

That's what I keep telling myself, if she's the right dog for me, she'll still be there, and if she's not for me I don't think she'll be there long as she'll get snapped up pretty quickly by another good home.

I'm just not convinced that the SSPCA are going to let me have a dog though as they seem to be putting obstacles in the way. I understand that they have rules, etc and that the rules are there for a reason but I would rather they just said no straight off instead of trying to put me off by making things difficult. I may be wrong and they may just be making sure I am certain about taking on a dog and dedicated enough to negotiate the 'problems' they are putting in my way, so I will see how things go at the end of the week and take it from there.

Earned £5  on a NewVista survey today:D and the survey wasn't even that long! I have spent longer on surveys for 80p or much (much!!!) less on Toluna.

Yay!!! :j:j Spoke to SSPCA this morning to let them know that I now have a dog walker and have a letter to confirm this and I am picking up my new house mate at 11am tomorrow!!

She is still a little bruised from her op for her infected womb, so is only allowed gentle exercise for a couple of weeks but I'm really looking forward to taking her for runs along the beach once she is back to full health.

Going to Pets at Home after work today armed with shopping list!!

Also need to rejig the budgets to accomodate all the new costs. I did this quickly a few weeks ago to make sure I could accomodate the expense of a dog walker etc, so I know that I can afford everything, I just want to do it properly to see where it leaves me for mortgage overpayments etc.

Surveys have been pretty good today - I'm struggling to keep on top of them today as well as fit in the work I should be doing lol!!

How exciting! I hope it's all going well.

These animal charities make me mad!! How dumb to give up the chance of a good home for an animal knowing that the odds are that you're going to just get a puppy from a shop or off the internet anyway.

Pushing people to buy puppies and kittens from pet shops or off the internet just encourages what is an awful trade in the first place. There are a family just around the corner who used to own a pet shop in my town which got closed down... the rumour is they are now selling kittens and puppies on the internet, and we certainly have lots of strays around, including a tiny little black cat with white paws who is flea-bitten and stunted... and nursing kittens. One of my neighbours had been feeding her occasionally, but stopped because she thought she must have some chronic disease because she was so tiny, but they caught her today and took her to a shelter who took one look at her and said she needed to be taken home because she is nursing! Poor, poor little thing.

We've had a whip around for food for her, and my neighbour will continue feeding her, and I hope that when she weans the kittens she'll start bringing them to my neighbour for food and we can catch them and get her neutered and the kittens checked over. A couple of my neighbours have decided to adopt them (we think there's only two at the most because only two nipples are sucked).

    Grrrrrr
