re: loren83's post. You can still get the card, but they don't advertise it as such. If you ring 08457 10 40 10 (number on the back of my card), there's an option to ask for an application form.

  • Sorry we were at cross purposes there. I have got a Tesco credit card so I get points for all my spending and I thought that was what you had. You have the card that you put a given amount on each month. As for what the points are worth I tend to spend them all in store and get the odd £10 off my shopping but they are worth more in other places – I just don’t go to theme parks or use cross channel ferries. Someone did tell me you can use them in B & Q as well.

Cheers for that. I thought they were worth 4 times as much as when you use them instore.

Trying to save for a holiday. Already have £22 worth in a folder at home, so that's £88 really. £7.50 already on February's statement, so an extra £30 and now an extra £8, so £126 in total! Not bad at all!

It may be better to do on line shopping if you can with your tesco plus card. I always use a 1000 points voucher so equates to £40 worth of deals! Plus you get your normal shopping value points as well.

There is a voucher board on here if you need to get hold of codes

pollyanna - with regards to saving your vouchers towards a holiday. be aware that there is a minimum spend for the holiday options, normally of £500. i believe it is possible to pay for it part cash, part vouchers, but the total must be over £500 and cannot include last minute/discounted/special offers etc.

might be worth your while to have a nosey at the clubcard deals section on the tesco website

i would have thought Vent? :)
    Thanks lynzpower :)

I'm glad to see that the OP has got the problem sorted :) Way to go pollyanna :)

Anyway... yes I'd considered the Vent board, but the post was as much a cry for help as anything; and then I thought about the Credit Card & Current Accounts one - but it's not that good a fit there either.

I was actually leaning towards Shop But Don't Drop beacuse although it's not a good fit there either I was pretty sure that the regulars on that board would know all about Tescos complaints procedures.

In the end I took the easy option and answered it myself and waited to see what the outcome was :)

I'll talk this one over with my fellow BG's and see about the best board to move this to in the hopes that it might help other users if they ever have a similar problem.

can you still get a clubcard plus?

Yes I got one 2 months ago. You can't get the paperwork through the store customer service - they told me they didn't do it anymore. Ring them and they will send the details. It seemed to take longer to set it up than it did about 6 yrs ago when I had my first one. I cancelled it because I was talked into a Tesco Credit Card and thought I wouldn't need the Club Card Plus. Silly me - the CC+ is better for points!

I have a Tesco credit card too, thought it was the best way to earn points. I use it for ALL purchases whenever the store takes a credit card without surcharge and then at the end of each day/week I transfer each amount from my bank to credit card.

How does cc+ work and how is it better, I would love to get more out of Mr.T if I could ;):p

I am not sure if it has changed but you used to transfer a given amount say £100 per month from your bank on to your card and then use the card in store or for petrol. They give you extra points because they know that by having this scheme you are less likely to go to Asda or Sainsburys because you are committed to spend £100 or whatever you signed up for.
