Tesco Clubcard Plus

How does cc+ work and how is it better, I would love to get more out of Mr.T if I could

Clubcard plus gives you two points per pound spent in Tesco. As pbradley says, it is a pre-loaded card and it pays minimal interest but as long as you only keep on it what you need each month then the extra points can really add up. You can load it by direct debit and by paying cash onto it at the customer service desk instore.
Your Tesco credit card (if it is the old sort) will be giving you 1.5 points per pound spent in Tesco and .5 point per pound spent elsewhere.
I therefore use my clubcard plus in Tescoo and my credit card for everything else.
The only problem I have run into is that the Tesco opposite my office has just put chip and pin readers on their self scan checkouts and now I can't use them as the card does not have a chip and Tesco Personal Finance tell me they have no intention of putting them in. Now this problem has arisen though I might ring and have another nag at them.0 -
I'm sure that on my Clubcard Plus I get an overdraft facility equivalent to one month's payment i.e pay £400 per month by Direct Debit, get £400 o/d.
This is shown on the cc+ statement as a credit limit. Not even wrong0 -

I didn't set the overdraft up on mine but you are right, it would equal one month's direct debit payments.0 -
Can anyone tell me how to get a clubcard plus as I can't find it on the Tesco website.0

From what other people have posted on here, you have to ring them up and ask for an application form.0 -

Do the self scan machines not also have a swipe reader card that either don't have a chip or for Tesco Giftcards?
I've not used Tesco SelfScan myself yet, but the ones in our local Asda do have the swipe readers fitted for non-chip cards or giftcards.
If you pay in cash at the customers services desk, can you do this with a cashback credit card, thus getting the cashback for paying onto the card, as well as double clubcard points? Also if you pay at the customer service desk, does this clear straight away so as you can spend it at the tills a few mins later?
Thanks in advance!

Going backwards - I have never loaded my card in store with cash so I can't answer the last bit.
After my experience mentioned above, the system was configured to allow clubcard plus cards to still be swiped. You just ignore the instruction to put the card in the reader. My gripe then was still that anyone could use my card (an issue I have taken up with Tesco) but when I used it in Tesco on Monday, an assistant came over and I had to sign for the transaction. This satisfies my complaint of a security risk but to be honest it took so long for him to come over, key in his security number and some other code, read the instruction on screen, print off the receipt, get me to sign and confirm it, that unless the other tills are really busy there is no longer anything to be gained for me by using the self service machines which is disappointing. I would still rather the card had a chip than the signature strip but so far Tesco have been unbending on this issue.0 -

I've just been looking on the Tesco site too, the given number is 0845 7104010, though the geographic one (according to saynoto0870.com) is 0141 5670356 (Open 9am - 5pm)
