    Things we're saving money on:

Cake - from M&S (the florist says he will make it look AMAZING with flowers in between the tiers) :) - cost about £60
Car - asking a friend with a fancy car to drive us - cost £0
Ring cushion - I have the most gorgeous little hanging heart that will do for this - cost £0 :D
Bridal jewellery - I will borrow pearl earrings and bracelet from my mum and hopefully wear a necklace as a hairband - cost £0
    Bridesmaid jewellery - I won it in a competition! :):) - cost £0
Bridesmaid shoes - hopefully she will be able to wear a pair that she already has - cost £0
Groom's suit - he's thinking of wearing one that he bought last year and has only worn once to another wedding - cost £0
Best man's suit - his own wedding suit matches OH's so he might wear that - cost £0

So we're doing ok so far!!! :D

My dress, on the other hand, is costing £1,300 :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • At the moment my entire outfit, including dress, jewellery, underwear and shoes is coming in at about £200. Still need to find some lining fabric, although I have some as back up (not quite the right colour) so it might edge just over, but not by much. Quite chuffed with myself! The only thing I splurged on was the underwear; a corselette at £63, but it's worth it as it'll make the dress hang much better.

I've also got some sweet pea seeds to grow into my MoH's and my bouquets; total cost £10. I'll buy a few orchids as well (Ikea do them for £5 each) but total flower cost, including fake flowers for corsages and buttonholes will be less than £50.

My mum, MiL2B and I are making and decorating the cake, which we will have as dessert, so just the cost of the ingredients there.

We're fighting tooth and nail to keep costs down as much as possible, as we're spending quite a lot on the venues, and on food and drink. We want a sit down meal for up to 80 people, and have separate day and evening venues, so the price mounts up very quickly!

Oh, what a shame. It is no wonder though. There isn't one near here or else I would have a look for you!

Keep an eye out though, I bet there'll be loads of fairy lights etc coming up on sale after Xmas.

In fact, I had a bit of a moment the other day and said to OH we should have booked our wedding for December because then could have had an Xmas theme & got everything really cheap in the January sales :rotfl:Bauble centrepieces in September anyone?!?!

My latest bargain is my MOH's necklace. Hot diamonds necklace £70 on the hot diamonds website for £20 off ebay new. I am so proud of myself. I originally bought her a cheapy necklace from Asda as she doen't really wear jewellery but when I saw this I just couldn't resist. I am so pleased with myself right at this moment in time :D
