Hi Colin
The OP seems to have only made posts regarding cat flaps and nothing else.
It may be the case that they are from a competator- I have no idea.
Have you tried to pm them?
Have you changed your phone number in the time period in question? If you can prove that you haven't then you could ask the admns to delete the whole thread.0 -
Its not just one person on the other thread though Colin

Colin, it seems you are pretty annoyed by the original poster's claims. Could I suggest you hit the "report" button at the bottom right of their post. That'll take you to an e-mail to admin. Tell them of your concerns and give them your contact details and invite the original poster to contact you directly to discuss their problem. If they don't then you've cleared your name well and good.0

Excellent
I accept responsibility for this; it was I who drew Colin's attention to the thread, and suggested he might wish to respond in person. I was unaware of the rule to which you have now drawn attention. Had I been aware of it, I would have suggested that Colin use the formal channels ("If you're from a company, have seen a post you feel is defamatory or offensive and would like the right of reply please email the Forum Team [at forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com] to ask.").NeverInDebt wrote: »I suggest Colin reads this rule also forums are not here to get business
However, as Colin's earlier rebuttals of the criticism levelled against him have been deleted, presumably by the Forum authorities, I would like to add that on no occasion when working for us did Colin ask for any money in advance : all work was carried out to our complete satisfaction before any money changed hands. I have no way of knowing whether this is his normal practice, but from a personal perspective, and bearing in mind unpleasant incidents involving friends (none involving Colin), I would strongly recommend never paying money up front -- a job completed is a job worth paying for; a job promised is another matter entirely.0 -
ExcellentColin : email the Forum Team [at forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com], tell them you are the person who has been accused of sharp practice in this thread, and tell them you want the right of reply. They will then advise you how to proceed.0

Sorry to hear that Emily66. I was conned by Colin Darrall of catflapfitter in 2010 - he took £150 deposit and that was the last we saw of him. Looks like he's still at it.0

Hmm, the only people who seem to be contributing to this thread are newbies. Advertising?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Or they've Googled to see if anyone else has had similar issues and it's led them to MSE, as opposed to being regular members.0

When I started a thread complaining about a company lots of newbies posted complaining too. I know those poeple are nothing to do with me and their experiences are very similar to mine. As has been suggested I think people Google after they've been conned instead of before. Sad but true.0
